Launch of memoir “Family, Friends and Country” by former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh

The launch attracted a large number of Da Nang students and many history lovers.

The 420-page memoir was published by Tri Thuc Publishing House and widely distributed by Phuong Nam Culture Company to readers nationwide on June 12. This is the second time the book has been introduced to a large number of Da Nang readers - close compatriots of author Nguyen Thi Binh. Previously, the book was introduced by the author at the French Cultural Center in the capital city of Hanoi.

Mr. Bui Van Tieng, Chairman of the Da Nang Historical Science Association, expressed his admiration and respect for author Nguyen Thi Binh, and emphasized: "The author of the book we are reading is a historical figure, and this memoir can also be considered a historical document."

Sharing the same feelings when accompanying former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh as a speaker, writer Nguyen Ngoc acknowledged: "These pages can give us many thoughts, not only about the exciting past, but also about today and tomorrow of the country."

Talking to readers, author Nguyen Thi Binh said that her family was a great spiritual support for her to complete the book. She herself feels that she is truly luckier than many other comrades, having lived from the difficult days of the country, to peace and now. "The book is where I send my lessons to everyone, the experiences that I myself have gone through."

Former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh also expressed concerns about the country's education system not having comprehensive reforms, and concerns about whether the country and the young generation can undertake the task ahead, which is to protect and build the country in the new era. She emphasized: "The struggle to build and develop the country is a complex, long-term struggle and requires strong efforts. If we have the spirit and unite together, we will undertake that task."

On this occasion, author Nguyen Thi Binh signed her memoir "Family, Friends and Country" for the bookshelf of the Da Nang Historical Association and the Da Nang Museum.
