While the renewed rivalry between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner is drawing attention, for many, the Federer-Nadal rivalry remains the pinnacle of tennis, so the news that the two icons could be back on the court has the fanbase buzzing.
When asked if he would be willing to lead a new tour featuring tennis legends, Federer did not hesitate to answer: "Why not? I like Rafa a lot. I played tennis for four hours in San Francisco and an hour and a half in Los Angeles. I play a lot, I'm trying to stay in shape."
He continued: "I know Rafa is ready to play a little more tennis. It sounds bad, tennis is for old people. Maybe we can create a tour, called 'Fedal'."

Federer also reiterated the aim of the Laver Cup, which he initiated, to honour legends. He believes a tour for former champions would attract a large audience: "There are a lot of people who want to see the past champions of tennis, so I can definitely consider it."
Federer previously spoke about life after retiring in 2022, after an emotional doubles match with Nadal at the Laver Cup in London. He admitted that he needed time to adjust to his new life, but now feels more in control of his schedule.
"I didn't really have any plans because I was always trying to come back and then suddenly I realized what I wanted to do was stop. And then I thought: 'Okay, it's over, now what?'. I think now I feel like I have more control over my schedule than before, I have a little bit of an aftershock from just retiring, so overall everything is pretty good," Federer shared with ATP.
Federer also revealed his training and diet regime to stay in shape: "I'm trying to go to the gym four times a week and I can't believe I'm actually doing it. I built a gym at home the week after the Laver Cup in London, so I finally have a gym."
"It's a bit strange that I've retired, so now I have to use the gym, so I'm doing well with that, and I don't play tennis as much anymore so I have to be a bit more careful with what I eat and what I eat. I still want to do some exhibition matches in the future so I want to keep fit and try to look a bit better," Federer added.
