Creating green space in production is a solution that many factories and enterprises in the province have been interested in implementing recently, aiming at the goal of sustainable development. The "factory park" model at Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Corporation is a typical example, contributing to creating a clean and friendly working environment for staff and workers.

In the minds of many people, iron and steel production is one of the most polluting fields, especially in terms of dust, wastewater and noise pollution. However, for Luu Xa Steel Rolling Mill (Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company), this has been fundamentally overcome. The factory campus is scientifically arranged, very clean and has many cool green trees. According to the unit's leaders, the density of trees accounts for more than 50% of the total area, with many flower gardens, ornamental plants, shade trees and miniature landscapes. The factory is also always interested in implementing solutions and applying technical innovations to reduce dust and noise.

Implementing the “park factory” model, Luu Xa Steel Rolling Mill has invested in and put into operation a circulating water tank for the crude steel rolling line, helping to prevent all wastewater from production activities from being discharged into the environment; adding an oil drying unit to reduce oil consumption and emissions. At the same time, it has planned and built a system of parking lots, cultural houses, sports halls, canteens, etc. in a scientific manner. Mr. Le Manh Tien, Chairman of the Factory’s Trade Union, informed: We assign staff and workers to regularly trim, care for trees and clean up the green, clean campus, creating a fresh environment for workers to be more attached to the factory.

Launched by the Vietnam Steel Corporation Trade Union in 2009, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Corporation is one of the units that actively responded to the "park factory" model. Up to now, the Company has 6 affiliated units that meet the standards: Iron Smelting Plant; Steel Smelting Plant, Thai Nguyen Steel Rolling Plant, Luu Xa Steel Rolling Plant, Thai Trung Steel Rolling Joint Stock Company and Energy Enterprise. These units always pay attention to implementing many technical solutions to minimize environmental pollution; reserve adequate space for trees and cultural and sports facilities to serve the spiritual life of workers.

The “greening” of the factory and enterprise premises at Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Corporation has contributed to creating a fresh space, promoting the spirit and working efficiency of employees. For the enterprise, this also helps reduce investment costs, develop sustainably and join hands with the community to protect the environment.
