On April 25, in Ho Chi Minh City, Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex (SEHC) officially started construction of a rooftop solar power project with a capacity of nearly 28 MWp. This is an important milestone in the journey to realize the sustainable development strategy and clearly demonstrates the social responsibility of Samsung Group in the Vietnamese market.

The project is not only meaningful in terms of technology or environment, but also a strong message about Samsung's long-term vision in creating a harmonious future between industry, economic growth and social responsibility.

The project provides about 26% of the electricity demand for the SEHC factory. This solar power system will be combined with the direct power purchase mechanism through the power line (DPPA) to aim for the goal of using 100% clean energy in production. Not stopping there, Samsung Vietnam aims to be carbon neutral by 2027, 3 years earlier than the global commitment of Samsung Group under the RE100 initiative.

In particular, the partnership with TotalEnergies - a strategic investor - has created an ideal model of cooperation between two businesses that share core values of sustainable development, innovation and responsible action.
