For the Domestic Terminal Renovation Project, construction commenced on July 2, 2025. After nearly six months of continuous construction, by early December 2025, the project had completed almost all of its construction work. Major components such as the steel structure, glass walls, lobby roof, granite paving, ceilings, and aluminum cladding were 100% completed, ensuring technical, aesthetic, and architectural consistency.

Regarding the aircraft parking apron expansion and renovation project, construction commenced on May 8, 2025, with an upgrade scale from 6 to 9 Code C aircraft parking positions, meeting the needs of operating currently popular narrow-body aircraft. By December 2025, all major items such as demolition of old structures, construction of mooring piles, and laying of crushed stone base course were 100% completed.

The runway and taxiway repair project has also completed key tasks. The lighting system has been fully installed and calibrated; the ILS system has been relocated, newly installed, and is undergoing stable testing; and the new flight procedures have been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

Mr. Nghiem Manh Tuan, Director of Vinh International Airport, said that a highlight is the implementation of many new technologies, synchronized from check-in procedures, security screening, baggage management to flight operations, thereby improving service quality, shortening waiting times and providing a more convenient experience for passengers.

Earlier, on December 8th, Mr. Hoang Phu Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, along with a delegation, directly inspected the progress of projects at Vinh Airport. He requested that investors and contractors continue to review technical aspects and complete the remaining items, ensuring absolute safety and quality so that the airport can reopen as planned on December 19th.

The official reopening of Vinh Airport is good news for passengers, as air travel is being restored with upgraded and modern infrastructure, equipment, and technology, contributing to flight safety, shorter check-in times, and improved service quality.

For Nghe An province, the timely reopening of the airport is of significant importance in facilitating transportation connections, promoting tourism, attracting investment, expanding trade, creating momentum for socio-economic development, and affirming Vinh Airport's role as the aviation gateway of the North Central region.
