Aquatic product output reached nearly 16,000 tons

(QBĐT) - Head of the Department of Fisheries Le Ngoc Linh said that in the first 3 months of 2024, the total output of aquatic products exploited in the province is estimated at 15,691.4 tons; of which marine exploitation reached more than 14,900 tons (fish 12,855 tons, shrimp 322 tons, other aquatic products 1,730 tons), equal to 103.3% over the same period.

It is known that since the beginning of the year, the weather has been relatively favorable, so fishing activities at sea have been enhanced, and fishermen in the province have made efforts to go offshore and stick to the sea. Therefore, fishing output has been quite good in squid fishing, trawling, etc.

Head of the Fisheries Sub-Department Le Ngoc Linh added that the unit is currently continuing to update and monitor weather developments, instruct fishermen to exploit aquatic products safely at sea; guide aquaculture farmers to deploy the new farming season in 2024; actively monitor, direct, and effectively deploy aquaculture models in rivers and reservoirs; carry out the work of registering and inspecting fishing vessels in localities, integrating propaganda to protect aquatic resources...
