Transport output continues to recover and grow strongly

According to the Ministry of Transport , in the first 5 months of 2023, transport output continued to grow strongly, both in terms of goods and passengers.

Passenger transport output by rail grew strongly.

Specifically, freight transport in May 2023 is estimated at 193 million tons, an increase of 20.7% over the same period in 2022, and the cumulative 5 months are estimated at 931 million tons, an increase of 18% over the same period in 2022.

Passenger transport in May 2023 is estimated at 378 million passengers, up 13.6% over the same period in 2022, and the cumulative number in 5 months is estimated at 1,856 million passengers, up 21.2% over the same period in 2022. Of which, aviation grew by 37.1%, sea transport grew by 66.8%, rail grew by 98.1%, road transport grew by 19.3%, and waterway transport grew by 41.7%.

To support businesses in the face of rising fuel prices, the Ministry of Transport has directed the implementation of many solutions to reduce transportation costs, production and business costs. The Ministry also requires airlines to handle delays and cancellations and improve the quality of passenger services; rectify violations in road transport activities; coordinate with competent agencies to inspect and handle overloaded vehicles in some localities...
