Ke Sach district develops agriculture and industry in a comprehensive direction.

STO - In agricultural production, Ke Sach district (Soc Trang) has focused on developing specialty rice varieties, high-yield rice varieties and specialty fruit trees to increase farmers' income on the same cultivated area. Along with agriculture, the district also focuses on industrial development, focusing mainly on developing existing industrial clusters in the district, in order to attract investors to build factories, create jobs for workers, contribute to increasing revenue for the district and creating better income for local workers.

In the first 5 months of 2025 alone, the agricultural sector of Ke Sach district has made remarkable progress. Specifically, the district has harvested rice with an estimated output of 118,328 tons, reaching nearly 70% of the resolution target, an increase of 1.78% over the same period, of which the output of specialty rice accounts for more than 92%, reaching nearly 71% of the resolution target. Regarding fruit trees, the whole district has an area of ​​more than 18,400 hectares in communes such as Xuan Hoa, Ba Trinh, Trinh Phu, Thoi An Hoi, An Lac Tay, Nhon My with areas growing specialty fruits with large output such as durian, star apple, longan, mango. The above fruits have stable economic efficiency, with income for gardeners of more than 150 million VND/ha/year. The production area according to VietGAP standards is nearly 258 hectares, with 9 communes granted 45 area codes for growing 5 types of fruit trees (grapefruit, longan, mango, durian, star apple), with an area of ​​over 431 hectares. The main fruit is grapefruit, which has been linked for consumption of nearly 720 tons, serving the domestic market and exporting to the European and US markets; the number of star apples harvested and exported to the US market is more than 169 tons, linked for domestic consumption with an output of nearly 282 tons. For other types of fruit, after harvest, all are purchased by traders, there is no backlog, some types of fruit with good price increases such as coconut, star apple, plum have brought a stable source of income for gardeners.

In addition, the value of industrial and handicraft production in Ke Sach district reached more than 703 billion VND, equal to 56% of the resolution target, an increase of more than 18% over the same period. Total retail sales and social consumption reached 8,509 billion VND, reaching nearly 55% of the resolution target, an increase of nearly 11% over the same period. Budget revenue was 34 billion VND, reaching nearly 57% of the resolution target. The highlight of the district is the An Lac Thon 1 Industrial Cluster, which is located on the Nam Hau River National Highway, convenient for transporting goods by waterway and road, so the district has accelerated the progress of site clearance to call for investors to invest in building factories in the industrial cluster.

Comrade Tran Minh Thu - Standing Deputy Secretary of Ke Sach District Party Committee said that in the first 5 months of 2025, the economic situation in the whole district increased quite well, basically meeting the monthly and quarterly progress requirements according to the Resolution 2025 of the District Party Committee. At the same time, to complete the goals and plans of the district in the remaining months of 2025, the district will continue to effectively implement the agricultural production plan for 2025, focusing on directing communes and towns to effectively implement programs, projects, and policies to support agricultural development, production conversion, crop restructuring, and effective control of diseases on crops and livestock. Pay attention to recommending the timely planting of Summer - Autumn rice crops. Regularly monitor weather developments, saline intrusion, especially the operation time of Rach Mop sluice gate to inform people, take proactive steps to respond promptly in production and prevent and combat natural disasters.

At the same time, direct agencies and units to ensure a reasonable, tight, economical balance of operating expenses, and limit arising costs. Research and propose management and handling of headquarters, finances, and surplus assets after administrative unit restructuring; direct the digitization of archived documents. Continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public investment management, allocate investment capital in stages to suit the apparatus restructuring; review and classify investment projects that are being implemented in progress, and have plans to change investors when the district-level administrative unit ends and the new commune-level government comes into operation...
