Identifying that proactive response and good implementation of search and rescue work is an extremely important task, the Provincial Police Department's Board of Directors directed the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force to uphold the spirit of constant human presence, carefully prepare specialized means and equipment to quickly respond to natural disasters and incidents.
From 2024 to present, the provincial Fire Police and Rescue Force have participated in rescue operations for nearly 50 incidents (drowning; trapped in houses and constructions; traffic accidents; landslides; fallen trees; floods...), rescuing many victims to safety.
National Highway 2B from Hop Chau town to Tam Dao town (Tam Dao district) has a mountainous route, many sharp turns and fog, so every year, a number of traffic accidents occur on this route.
Recently, the provincial Fire Police and Rescue Force coordinated with relevant units to quickly rescue victims of a serious traffic accident.
Specifically, on April 26, 2025, a traffic accident occurred at km 19 of National Highway 2B, a 29-seat passenger car traveling from Tam Dao town down the mountain crashed into the guardrail, then plunged down the negative slope, overturned on the side of the road.
Immediately after receiving the news, the provincial Fire Police and Rescue Force quickly arrived at the scene and deployed a rescue plan. The unit mobilized maximum forces and specialized vehicles to quickly approach and remove the victims from the dangerous area, ensuring the safety of the victims and officers and soldiers performing the task.
In the rugged mountainous terrain, the vehicle was severely damaged, the rescue work encountered many difficulties, however, with a high sense of responsibility and close coordination between forces, the fire police and rescue forces quickly removed the victims from the vehicle, organized first aid and urgently transferred the injured to medical facilities...
Entering the rainy season, the risk of landslides and floods will also increase. Therefore, the provincial fire police and rescue forces and local units must grasp the local situation and weather, especially in key areas of Tam Dao, Binh Xuyen, Yen Lac, Lap Thach districts, where there is a risk of landslides, rockslides, and floods, to promptly arrange forces and means to participate in rescue when situations arise.
Keeping abreast of weather conditions, during prolonged rainy and stormy days, the functional forces maintain 100% of their personnel on duty to ensure quick arrival at the scene to participate in search and rescue. At the same time, they regularly prepare full search and rescue equipment such as life jackets, life buoys, rubber boats, saws, cutting machines, diving and swimming equipment, oxygen tanks, etc. to be ready to participate in search and rescue, protecting people's lives and property.
Along with proactively preparing forces and means to participate in responding to search and rescue situations, the Provincial Police regularly advise the Provincial People's Committee to organize drills on search and rescue plans to respond to natural disasters and incidents.
Focus on drills in key areas with high potential risks of natural disasters and incidents so that forces can improve their operational capacity, be ready to coordinate and handle situations promptly and effectively, and minimize damage.
Therefore, the forces ensure smooth information, clearly define the roles and tasks of each unit, avoid overlap or slow response. The establishment of shock troops and volunteers in the community and residential areas also contributes to improving the ability to respond on the spot...
In addition, the provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force coordinates with units to regularly propagate, raise awareness, and proactively respond to natural disasters and prevent incidents to all classes of people so that each person clearly understands the risks that may occur in the area where they live and work.
Equipping yourself with basic knowledge of fire prevention and fighting, escape skills, first aid, and the use of rescue equipment will help minimize the consequences when an incident occurs. In addition, people need to regularly monitor weather information, natural disaster warnings, and strictly follow the instructions of authorities in situations...
