Thong Nhat Stadium will be renovated to serve the 10th National Sports Congress.

Notably, famous landmarks for sports fans nationwide such as Thong Nhat Stadium, Phu Tho Stadium... will also be upgraded and repaired by Ho Chi Minh City to serve the Congress.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just submitted a report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on the Project to host the 10th National Sports Congress in 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City. Previously, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City chaired and coordinated with relevant agencies and units to draft a Project to host the Congress in Ho Chi Minh City and organized to collect opinions from the city's departments, branches and relevant agencies and units. At the same time, a working delegation was sent to work with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong , Ba Ria Vung Tau and Tien Giang, which are expected to co-host the Congress.

Check the facilities for the organization of the Congress

A thorough survey showed that the infrastructure system serving the organization of competitions and training, the works that meet the conditions are directly managed by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committees of districts, towns and Thu Duc City, including 3 stadiums, 13 gymnasiums, 3 swimming pools, 1 tennis court cluster. These are very familiar landmarks to the city's residents as well as fans nationwide such as Thong Nhat Stadium, Phu Tho Sports Stadium, Phu Tho Swimming and Diving Club, Phu Tho Tennis Club.

Multi-purpose stadiums managed by districts, towns and Thu Duc city include 12 stadiums: Nguyen Du stadium, Ho Xuan Huong stadium, Van Don stadium, multi-purpose stadium (District 7), Lang Binh Thang stadium (District 11), Tan Binh district stadium (District 12), Rach Mieu stadium (Phu Nhuan district), Phan Dang Luu stadium (Binh Thanh district), Tan Binh district stadium, Go Vap district stadium. There are 2 swimming pools and 2 stadiums managed by districts and towns that are qualified to host the Games.

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism works with Binh Duong Province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on preparations for the Congress.

The qualified projects managed by ministries and enterprises include 1 stadium, 3 gymnasiums, 1 shooting range and 1 golf course.

After the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Official Letter No. 4440/BVHTTDL-TCTDTT on agreeing on the policy for the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City to draft a Project to host the 10th National Sports Congress in 2026; the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued Official Letter No. 4348/VP-VX on hosting the Congress in Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City quickly proposed to allocate medium-term capital to renovate and upgrade facilities serving the competition at the Congress managed by the Department. This proposal was approved by the City People's Council with a medium-term investment budget, expected to be completed in 2025. This source of funding will be used to upgrade and renovate the Phu Tho Sports Gymnasium, Phu Tho Sports Training Center, Hoa Lu Sports Center, Phu Tho Swimming and Diving Club, Thong Nhat Stadium and build a new training center for talented athletes.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City has also surveyed and worked with localities that are expected to host the Games with Ho Chi Minh City. The survey results show that in Binh Duong, the Go Dau sports complex with an area of 10 hectares includes the Go Dau stadium with a capacity of 20,000 seats and 6 standard tennis courts, including 1 covered tennis court with a capacity of 1,500 seats; the Exhibition Conference Center includes a large hall, a high-class stage with a capacity of 1,500 seats; the WTC International Exhibition Center includes indoor exhibition halls with a total area of 14,000m2 and an outdoor exhibition space of 8,000m2; the Binh Duong New City Community Sports Center with 2 modern standard swimming pools and currently has 10 standard tennis courts, including 1 court with a covered grandstand with a capacity of 1,500 seats.

Dong Nai province has a stadium with a capacity of 30,000 seats, a provincial gymnasium with a capacity of 1,500 seats. This is the place that has held many national level competitions and is qualified to hold the 10th National Sports Festival.

Thong Nhat Stadium will be repaired and upgraded to serve the Congress.

The next locality planned to host the Games with Ho Chi Minh City is Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with a stadium with a capacity of 10,000 seats, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial gymnasium is designed and built with a scale of 3,000 seats with the function of organizing many national sports tournaments. With the strength of being a famous tourist destination in the South, possessing many beautiful beaches, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province can organize beach sports such as beach volleyball, beach handball, beach rattan ball, triathlon... at famous tourist destinations such as Bai Sau - Vung Tau city, Long Hai - Long Dien district, Ho Tram - Xuyen Moc district...

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Nam Nhan, the survey process showed that all locations met the requirements for hosting the Games such as meeting the requirements on technical standards for organizing sports according to the regulations of the respective Sports Federations; convenient traffic, parking lots, emergency exits; full functional rooms; air conditioning with sufficient capacity, lighting systems, sound systems meeting competition standards according to the regulations of the International Sports Federations. The locations must also meet the requirements of having LAN, wifi, broadband fiber optic cable to serve reporters of television stations, press agencies, etc.

Phu Tho Stadium will also be renovated by Ho Chi Minh City.

With the number of coaches and athletes expected to reach about 12,000 people, it will require meticulous and thoughtful logistics arrangements and accommodation arrangements for the delegations. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has a total of 1,897 hotels from 1 star to 5 stars with 47,724 rooms, ensuring to serve the requirements of the delegations attending the Games. Other localities, because they only organize a few sports and the number of athletes of the participating delegations is not large, the arrangement of accommodation for the delegations at hotels in the area is relatively convenient.

With scientific, methodical and thorough preparation from now on, Ho Chi Minh City is expected to successfully host the 10th National Sports Festival. By successfully hosting the Festival, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to affirm and enhance its position as a special city, playing an important role in the socio-economic development of Vietnam in particular and countries in the region in general.
