This morning, nearly 70,000 candidates retook the university entrance exam.

(Dan Tri) - In the second round of the largest university entrance exam in the country in 2025, nearly 70,000 students took the exam for the second time.

This morning (June 1), the second round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam officially took place. Candidates started taking the test at 8:30 and finished at 11:00.

The exam took place simultaneously in 11 localities including Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, An Giang .

Quick information from Ho Chi Minh City National University, there are nearly 95,000 candidates participating in the second round of the competency assessment exam. Ho Chi Minh City is the locality with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam with more than 33,400 candidates taking the exam.

Notably, 67,623 candidates took the first round of this exam and continued to take the second round (accounting for 71.3%), with more than 27,000 candidates taking the exam for the first time.

The results of the second round of exams will be announced on June 16.

Regarding the fact that many candidates retake the exam, according to the regulations of this exam, if a candidate takes both exams, the higher exam result will be used for admission consideration.

Candidates will take a competency assessment test consisting of 120 objective multiple-choice questions with 150 minutes to complete and will be taken on paper.

The test score is converted by section. The maximum score of the test is 1,200 points, in which the maximum score of each component of the test is shown on the score sheet including Vietnamese is 300 points, English is 300 points; mathematics is 300 points and scientific thinking is 300 points.

Previously, on March 30, about 130,000 candidates attended the first round of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam.

This is the largest direct university entrance exam in the country in terms of the number of candidates and the number of schools using the exam results for admission.

To date, more than 100 universities and colleges nationwide use the results of this exam in admissions.
