Sharing with VietNamNet , singer Thanh Duy confided that every year on November 20, he nostalgically recalls the time when he was still standing on the podium.

After graduating with honors from the English Pedagogy Department at Can Tho University, Thanh Duy went to the city to start a career. He worked as a teaching assistant at the Vietnam-USA English Center. This was the first job that brought income to the male singer in Ho Chi Minh City.

At this time, Thanh Duy also registered to compete in Vietnam Idol 2008. What surprised him was that when he heard the news, the entire school board, teachers, colleagues and students supported and called for votes for him.

After the contest, Thanh Duy officially entered the professional singing career. However, the initial difficult time in the profession and unstable income forced him to return to the teaching profession once again.

Thanh Duy applied to the Foreign Language Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was accepted as an official teacher. His students have diverse occupations and are between 10 and 60 years old.

“Although I only taught for a short time, I have many memorable memories. Every year on November 20, an older lady always sends me a congratulatory message. This makes me happy and touched because at least I have left a good impression, helping them somewhat with their foreign language skills in life,” the singer emotionally recounted.

Currently, Thanh Duy focuses his time and effort on music. He believes that even though he does not directly teach a class, he can still become an educator, spreading positive and meaningful things through art projects.

“Education is reflected in every product I make. This is also what I am struggling to convey to my audience right now,” he said.

Singer Ho Quynh Huong

Originally an A-list star, singer Ho Quynh Huong almost disappeared from showbiz for a period of time to devote time to her business and take on a new role as a vocal instructor.

In 2016, Ho Quynh Huong joined the teaching staff at the Military University of Culture and Arts - the school she was attached to and grew up in throughout her youth. Two years later, she was invited by the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music to teach in the Light Music Department.

Ho Quynh Huong is in charge of teaching intensive singing techniques to students aged 15-16, helping them apply chamber music techniques to pop music, learning how to sing on stage, in the studio or live.

Singer Hoang Mang said that every time she teaches, she never thinks about the fact that she used to be a famous singer.

Stepping onto the podium, she is just a teacher like many others, with the desire to be able to convey all her experience to each generation of students.

"I have my own lesson plan on light music so I really want to pass it on to the young people. When the school invited me, I was excited to participate, and I was especially happy when the students changed after just a few lessons," Ho Quynh Huong said.

Ho Quynh Huong has not been very active for a long time, only occasionally singing at events or appearing on the red carpet. However, the female singer still maintains her popularity thanks to knowing how to "keep the fire" of music, regularly releasing music products every year.

Although famous as a singer, few people know that Thuy Chi is also a piano teacher. After graduating from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, she accepted a position as a vocal teacher for children at an art center in Hanoi. In addition, Thuy Chi was also invited to be a music consultant at competitions such as Do Re Mi, Star Academy ...

For Thuy Chi, becoming a music teacher was not a choice but a dream since childhood. Her passion for music and love for children were the main reasons why she pursued a career in education.

Being a singer requires a light-hearted and carefree attitude, while being a teacher requires seriousness and dignity. Balancing the roles between the two fields is something Thuy Chi is particularly interested in.

Thuy Chi's students are mostly young children so everything is quite comfortable. The singer sees them as friends and is not as strict as university lecturers.

On the contrary, the young students also showed understanding, obedience and always showed respect and love for the teacher.

“I never force students to achieve certain results or rankings. Our lessons are therefore light and fun instead of psychologically stressful,” Thuy Chi revealed to VietNamNet .

In 2020, Thuy Chi temporarily stopped teaching to move to the South and focus on music. However, the dream of standing in front of the class and meeting her students still burns as strong as ever.

Singer Duong Hoang Yen was the valedictorian of Hanoi College of Art. After graduating, she was retained at the school as a vocal instructor at the age of 22.

When she first started teaching, Duong Hoang Yen revealed that her monthly salary was only 2.9 million VND. Many people who knew the news advised her to quit or temporarily resign to focus on developing her singing career.

However, the female singer shook her head and refused because she thought it was better to cancel the show than abandon her beloved students.

Although she has been teaching for more than 10 years, Duong Hoang Yen is often mistaken for a student because of her youthful appearance. In the classroom, she often chooses a comfortable style of dress and behaves gently with students to easily convey her emotions and energy.

In 2022, Duong Hoang Yen decided to move to the South to continue pursuing her singing career. Thanks to her good vocal foundation and methodical musical orientation, she has made many remarkable impressions.

Besides focusing on music products, Duong Hoang Yen also actively appears at events and participates in game shows. Recently, the singer attracted attention when participating in the show Chi dep dap gio.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Duong Hoang Yen still accepts private vocal lessons with few students. Every time she goes to Hanoi, she also makes an appointment with her students to teach them so that they can prepare for their exams.

The singer set a 10-year milestone focusing on developing her career in the Ho Chi Minh City entertainment market. After that, she will return to teaching. "My final destination is teaching," the singer revealed.
