Phong Chau Bridge over the Red River collapsed

At around 10am on September 9, Phong Chau Bridge on National Highway 32C, spanning the Red River, connecting Tam Nong and Lam Thao districts, collapsed. This is an important bridge with a large volume of people and vehicles passing through.

Immediately after the incident, authorities were present in time to regulate traffic, cordon off the scene, and carry out rescue work.

The damage to people and property cannot be counted yet.

Phong Chau Bridge has a load capacity of 60 tons, is 240.5m long, 6.5m wide with 2 lanes running in opposite directions.
