On August 1, a representative of Vietnam Joint Stock Auction Company said that this month, the online license plate auction floor is expected to feature a series of super VIP five-digit license plates from many localities across the country.

Typically, Hanoi has license plates that are considered super beautiful such as: 30K-999.99, 30L-666.66, 30L-777.77, 30K-888.88. Ho Chi Minh City has the following properties: 51K-999.99, 51L-666.66, 51L-888.88, 51L-555.55.
Notably, the 30K-999.99 license plate was auctioned at VND75.275 billion in January (a record price since the license plate auction began in August 2023). However, the winning bidder later reneged on the deposit. In April, when it returned to the auction floor, the 30K-999.99 continued to be auctioned at VND30.65 billion but the deposit was still reneged.
Similarly, the license plates 30K-888.88 and 51K-999.99 were also priced at more than 20 billion VND in the auction held in April but were later abandoned.
Five-digit license plates from many other localities were also put up for auction in August for collectors to "hunt", such as: 38A-666.66 (Ha Tinh); 14A-888.88 (Quang Ninh); 15K-333.33 (Hai Phong); 70A-333.33, 70A-555.55 (Tay Ninh); 43A-888.88 ( Da Nang ); 49A-999.99 (Lam Dong), 60K-555.55 (Dong Nai), 34A-888.88 (Hai Duong).
Besides the remarkable series of numbers above, a series of other five-of-a-kind, four-of-a-kind, three-of-a-kind, and progressive plates also appear in the list expected to be auctioned in August such as: 30L-567.89 (Hanoi), 60K-567.89 ( Dong Nai ).
Recently, the organizer successfully auctioned the Khanh Hoa province five-digit license plate 79A-555.55 for 3.920 billion VND; the Ho Chi Minh City five-digit license plate 51D-999.99 for 3.580 billion VND.
The 4th auction regulations stipulate that the auction duration is 25 minutes/license plate. Auction participants should note that the authentication code to access the online auction room will be sent by the system to the registered phone number and email at least 60 minutes before the auction starts.
According to Decree 39/2023/ND-CP of the Government, the person who wins the car license plate auction has 12 months (from the date of receiving the car license plate confirmation to register the auction winning license plate), people do not need to have a car before registering to participate in the auction.
Through the three previous auctions, the units successfully auctioned nearly 24,000 license plates online. The total amount of money collected from the auction of car license plates to pay to the State budget was more than 2,200 billion VND.
According to the latest regulations of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety (effective from July 1), those who withdraw their deposit after winning a license plate auction will not be allowed to participate in the license plate auction within 12 months from the date of announcement of the winning results.
