Provincial merger: Civil servants living far from their workplace will enjoy social housing policies

(DN) - On June 2, at the national online conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the People's Committees of provinces and cities, based on actual local conditions, to issue detailed regulations this June on cases where people who own houses but are far from their workplaces are considered for social housing support policies according to Resolution No. 201/2025/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for social housing development, which the National Assembly recently passed on May 29, 2025.

This is a regulation to create conditions for civil servants who change jobs due to administrative unit reorganization to enjoy social housing policies.

According to information from the Provincial People's Committee, it is expected that when Binh Phuoc merges with Dong Nai, there will be about 1,400 civil servants and public employees from Binh Phuoc province coming to Dong Nai to work and have a need to use social housing.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned relevant agencies to survey headquarters that are no longer in use, existing apartment buildings and public housing to propose renovation and repair to turn them into public housing; at the same time, propose to quickly build a number of social housing areas to arrange accommodation for officials.
