Arrangement of Ho Chi Minh City press system to be completed before September 15

On the afternoon of June 9, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels and the construction of a two-level local government model in Ho Chi Minh City (referred to as the Steering Committee) held a meeting. Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the meeting.

Merging provincial radio and television stations

Reporting on the progress of the plan to merge provincial radio and television stations, Director of the Department of Culture and Information of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan said that on May 29, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the department to develop a project to arrange the Voice of the City People's Radio (VOH) and Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV).

The Department has held 4 meetings, including an expanded meeting inviting leaders of Binh Duong Radio and Television Station and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Radio and Television Station to attend. Currently, the Department of Culture and Sports has submitted a project to reorganize VOH and HTV.

Regarding the project to rearrange the Ho Chi Minh City press, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Tang Huu Phong added that, up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department has submitted documents with rearrangement plans to competent authorities.

Basically arranged 102 ward and commune police chiefs

At the meeting, the leader of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that up to now, regarding police personnel in communes and wards, 102 cases have been basically arranged to hold the position of police chief of wards and communes after the arrangement.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City Police arranged 35 deputy heads of Ho Chi Minh City Police's professional departments, 75 commune-level police chiefs and team leaders, and proposed to hold the positions of new ward and commune police chiefs.

After the reorganization of commune-level administrative units, the administrative boundaries of communes have changed. Therefore, the arrangement of commune-level police headquarters is also difficult because the police force is large and on duty 24/7.

Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has developed a plan with 5 working groups, working with districts, Thu Duc City to review the headquarters. In the immediate future, the old headquarters of the police in wards and communes will be maintained and some new headquarters will be borrowed to ensure conditions for the commune-level police force to perform their duties.

The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Police also informed that in the near future, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Party Committee will work with the Standing Committee of the Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police Party Committees regarding the content of merging the three localities of Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Ho Chi Minh City, including personnel plans, arrangement of department-level staff...

Also at the meeting, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Command said that the Standing Committee of the Military Party Committees of the three provinces and cities had met to discuss merger plans. These included deploying combat readiness plans and plans to organize military units in new wards and communes.
