On the afternoon of May 15, according to the Ministry of Health , in the past 24 hours, the country recorded 1,987 cases of Covid-19 (an increase of more than 930 cases compared to the previous day). Thus, after 2 days of sharp decline, the number of Covid-19 cases increased again. In addition, there are currently 76 severe patients on oxygen, including 8 on ventilators.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, Vietnam has had 11,592,604 infections, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories, while with the rate of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories (on average, there are 117,152 infections per 1 million people).

Regarding the treatment situation, 242 more patients were declared cured during the day, bringing the total number of cured cases to 10,632,576. In addition, there are currently 76 patients on oxygen, including 63 cases on oxygen through masks, 5 cases on high-flow oxygen HFNC, 3 cases on non-invasive ventilation and 5 cases on invasive ventilation.

There have been no new deaths from Covid-19. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in Vietnam to date is 43,201, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections.

Total deaths ranked 26th out of 231 territories, deaths per 1 million people ranked 141st out of 231 countries and territories in the world . Compared to Asia, total deaths ranked 7th out of 50 (ranked 3rd in ASEAN), deaths per 1 million people ranked 29th out of 50 countries and territories in Asia (ranked 5th in ASEAN).

Regarding the vaccination situation, according to the report of the Ministry of Health , on May 14, 11,406 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were injected. Thus, the total number of vaccine doses injected was 266,334,801 doses, of which 223,690,523 doses were injected for people aged 18 and over; 23,965,543 doses were injected for children aged 12-17; and 18,678,735 doses were injected for children aged 5-11.
