In December 2024, Miss Thuy Tien was introduced as the female lead in the movie Chot Don . The project marked her second time entering the cinema, produced by the duo Bao Nhan - Nam Cito.
However, when the beauty queen got into trouble with the law, information about her role in the film was left in limbo.

On July 29, the film crew officially announced the return of the project, and also posted a poster hinting at who would replace the female lead, Miss Thuy Tien.
As a result, the director duo decided to use AI (artificial intelligence) technology to replace Thuy Tien's face.
According to most viewers, the character's new appearance is not much different, the expression is still similar. The voice part is performed by voice actor Huynh Bao Ngoc.
In response to the question: When hearing the news that Miss Thuy Tien - the female lead was arrested for investigation when the film was about to be released, how did this affect the crew?, producer - director Nam Cito said everyone was surprised, confused and dismayed.
According to him, this incident was so big that no one had time to react and think of another solution.
"But in difficulty comes wisdom, in danger there is opportunity. Sometimes incidents are an opportunity for us to have time to review the film more completely and deeply," he shared.
After more than 200 days of non-stop work, the crew decided to bring the film to the audience. They are happy because they did not give up and did what they wanted to do.

The idea of using AI technology came from Production Director Dinh Huong. At first, they were hesitant because they thought AI was fake and soulless. But after receiving the test versions, the team was really surprised.
"AI technology has gone beyond what we imagined. It has retained the full emotion, authenticity, and naturalness.
That is the criteria we want when implementing the project. Therefore, we implement this solution," Nam Cito further explained.

Using technology to replace images of actors who break the law in films is unprecedented in the history of Vietnamese cinema.
The film crew's legal representative said the producer had carefully considered many factors, including legal and contract factors signed with Thuy Tien.
Accordingly, the contract has a clause clearly requiring the actor to maintain his image and ethics. In this case, Thuy Tien has violated the contract.
"Therefore, the actor has no authority to complain to the producer, only the opposite can happen," the representative said.
The movie Chot Don was directed by the duo Bao Nhan and Nam Cito with the theme of livestream sales.

The film tells the story of "the god of deals" Hoang Linh (played by Thuy Tien) and Uncle An (Quyen Linh) - an office worker and a motorbike taxi driver. The film brings together actors Quyen Linh, Hong Dao, People's Artist Hong Van, Le Loc...
The film was originally released on March 7, but at the end of February, the distributor announced that the release date would be postponed to June 20 to complete post-production.
The release schedule continues to be adjusted after the Thuy Tien controversy. As of now, the film has a new release date of August 8.
