Singer Huong Giang has just announced the live show " One Half" with the participation of two guest singers Trong Bac and Duy Hung. Although she has had her own concert many times, this is a concert with special meaning, marking her 25 years of artistic activities.
"Sad girl of the tea room" Huong Giang shares about the Liveshow "Half" |
Singer Huong Giang (wife of the late singer Phi Hai) is affectionately called “ Sad Lady of the Tea Room ” by the audience because she appears in all the tea rooms in Ho Chi Minh City. She was born in 1974 and started singing at the age of 22. She won first prize in the Dong Nai Province Television Singing Contest, third prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest in 1997; and fourth prize in the National Television Singing Contest in 1999 (tied with Ho Quynh Huong).
Huong Giang said that the music night "One Half" will take place at VOH Music One Theater (HCMC) on the evening of July 28.
The other half symbolizes Huong Giang's promise to the audience, that "Huong Giang's past 25 years of singing are only half; Giang will continue to sing and serve the audience for another 25 years to complete her musical career." The other half is also a metaphor for the role of a singer in the music nights at tea rooms. There, the singer is only half, the other half is the audience. Huong Giang said that she can absolutely sing in the studio, where the sound is the clearest, the soul is the most peaceful, but she will sing even better when standing in front of the tea room audience, receiving the resonance from the applause, which is the other half of that space.
The music night has 3 parts, corresponding to 3 periods in Huong Giang's career: the first period when she won third prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest in 1997; the second period when she returned to tea rooms, focusing on Vietnamese lyrical songs; the last part is songs that have never been performed.
Appearing alongside Huong Giang as guests are Trong Bac and Duy Hung, two beautiful voices that are currently loved by tea room audiences. With Trong Bac, Huong Giang believes that this is a male voice that goes extremely well with her. As for Duy Hung, music lovers have given him compliments as “the male copy of Huong Giang”.
For Huong Giang, performing the live show " One Half" is a happiness. "Huong Giang thinks that her audience is too familiar with tea rooms. Now that the economy is difficult, having to pay a larger amount of money to go to the theater will be a barrier for them. Therefore, with a suitable price, I hope that the auditorium will be filled with love from the audience and from there they can burn themselves out in music."
According to Huong Giang, financially, she has no ability to invest. In terms of appearance, she admits that she is limited. Before the live show, Huong Giang shared half-jokingly, half-seriously: “Huong Giang once told the profession's founder that besides singing and song processing skills, he would not give her anything else! I have no beauty, no money and no jealousy. Looking back, if I wanted to be famous, there was a price to pay. Money was impossible, love affairs, and beauty were even more impossible. Throughout my singing journey, I have devoted myself to my profession."
She considers herself not famous, just like many singers who sing well but are not famous. However, choosing a quieter path is also lucky because up to now she has never had to ask anyone to sing. People often say that being an artist is very hard, but she finds more joy and up to now she still makes a good living with her profession, loved by many people.
