Forced to fire teacher who strangled colleague in schoolyard

On October 30, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province announced that it had agreed to apply disciplinary action of forced dismissal to Mr. DT (teacher at Vo Nguyen Giap High School (Ea O commune, Dak Lak province) for violating regulations on teachers' ethics.

Previously, on October 3, Mr. D.T. (teacher at Vo Nguyen Giap High School) used his hands to strangle his colleague right in the school yard, in front of many students. This behavior seriously violated the regulations on teachers' ethics and negatively affected the pedagogical environment.

In particular, from 2013 to 2025, Mr. D.T. was subject to 5 disciplinary decisions at his work units.

During the review meeting and the disciplinary council meeting, Mr. D.T. did not write a self-criticism, showed an open attitude, laughed, mocked everyone, and lacked the spirit of learning. The disciplinary council of Vo Nguyen Giap High School met on October 25 and the result of the vote was 100% in agreement to discipline Mr. D.T. by forcing him to quit his job.

According to the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, Mr. D.T.'s violation was a recidivism while serving a disciplinary warning and seriously violated the regulations on teachers' ethics, negatively affecting the image of teachers and the pedagogical environment. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training unanimously agreed to apply the disciplinary measure of forced dismissal to the official D.T.
