According to Tuoi Tre Online on May 3, the nets were tightly covered and securely fixed at Hung Vuong Plaza shopping mall (District 5). This is a measure that has just been deployed at Van Hanh Mall (District 10) after three consecutive unfortunate incidents this month.

Some visitors were surprised by the new look of Hung Vuong Plaza, many of them stopped for a long time to observe. However, as soon as they approached and leaned on the tempered glass railing, they were immediately reminded by the security force to keep their distance from the glass railing.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , a male security guard at Hung Vuong Plaza said that the grid system was completed and installed on May 1, right during the peak holiday season of April 30 and May 1.

The measure was implemented immediately after the unfortunate incident at Van Hanh Mall. Not only were nets set up, security forces were also increased.

"Previously, one person could be in charge of two floors. Now, each floor has at least one person on duty at all times, and patrols have been increased to promptly detect and handle unexpected situations," the male security guard shared.

Hung Vuong Plaza opened in 2007, formerly known as Parkson Hung Vuong, and was once one of the prominent shopping malls in District 5 (HCMC). However, after a long period of stagnation, this center closed. In April 2023, Parkson Vietnam Co., Ltd. officially withdrew from the domestic retail market.

Hung Vuong Plaza was then taken over by Kido Group - the unit managing Van Hanh Mall - and comprehensively restructured. The center was renovated according to a modern shopping and entertainment model, in line with new consumer trends.

From September 2023, the center will be operational again.

Earlier on the morning of April 29, Van Hanh Mall (District 10) also completed the installation of safety nets in the mezzanine area, extending from the 7th floor to the 1st floor like a waterfall.
