According to Mr. Kim Son, the two sides have closely coordinated in effectively implementing the Project "Improving the quality and effectiveness of Vietnam - Laos cooperation in the field of education and human resource development for the 2021 - 2030 period".
The two sides are also coordinating to strictly implement the Training Cooperation Protocol between the Vietnamese and Lao Governments on regulations related to admission standards for international students and implementing measures to improve training quality.
"The authorities of the two countries need to consider creating favorable conditions for Lao and Vietnamese students, including those with scholarships under the agreement and outside the agreement, to be exempted from visa fees and temporary residence cards when studying in the two countries . "
The head of the Vietnamese education sector requested the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports to provide more information about Lao students so that Vietnam can make the best preparations, and at the same time consider making Vietnamese an optional subject in the high school graduation exam in Laos; and include Vietnamese textbooks compiled by Vietnam in teaching at schools that have the need and conditions to teach Vietnamese in Laos.
Discussing further on this content, according to the Ministry of Education and Training, the introduction of Lao language into general schools for teaching will be done as an elective foreign language subject, depending on the needs and conditions of each school and student, not a compulsory subject.
