Bridge between children and parents
On the morning of June 2, more than 11,800 candidates in Da Nang City officially entered the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year with the first subject being literature.
This year's exam consists of two parts: reading comprehension (4 points) and writing (6 points), based on the poem "Talking to children at the end of the year" by poet Luu Quang Vu.

According to Thanh Nien reporters at testing locations in the center of Da Nang City such as Phan Chau Trinh High School, Tran Phu High School..., after 120 minutes of taking the test, most candidates said that this year's literature exam was "just right".
Candidate Ngoc Huong (Hoang Sa Secondary School) said that the reading comprehension section mainly requires the application of basic knowledge such as rhetorical devices, methods of expression and personal feelings about images and emotions in poetry.
"I find this part quite clear, not confusing. If you review reading comprehension skills carefully, especially mastering the operations of identifying and expressing emotions, it is not too difficult to get a high score," Ngoc Huong shared.

The most interesting question in the essay is the social argument with the requirement: "Present what young people need to do to convince their parents to trust and accompany them on the path to good things in the future."
This is a question that gives candidates the opportunity to share honestly about the relationship between parents and children.
Tran Thi Ngoc Huong said that this year's essay topic is very close and suitable for students. "This essay topic is like a bridge to help us express our desire to be understood and accompanied by our parents not only in studying but also in life orientation," Ngoc Huong said.
Similarly, Tran Quang Bao (Nguyen Hong Anh Secondary School, Hoa Vang District) also said that this essay topic made him want to share many things with his parents.
"I wrote in my essay that I wanted to clearly express my strengths and interests so that my parents would trust me, and at the same time share the difficulties I am facing in my studies and life so that my parents can understand me better," Quang Bao said.
The social argument in this year's essay has opened up space for students to express their true feelings and relate personal experiences and family bonds.

"This social discussion question really hits the psychology of modern students. They are in the stage of adulthood, needing companionship and listening from their parents. When asked about this, they will have the opportunity to think, look back at themselves and their family relationships, which is something they don't always have the opportunity to talk about," shared a female teacher at Ly Thuong Kiet Secondary School.
Touching emotions with Luu Quang Vu's poetry
The reading comprehension section of this year's exam is based on the poem "Talking to my children at the end of the year" by poet Luu Quang Vu, which candidates consider a touching and meaningful work.
The poem is also used as a basis for the literary essay section (6 points). In it, candidates are asked to analyze metaphors expressing father-child affection, a topic deeply linked to the social essay question, helping students easily transfer emotions and develop a coherent essay.

Tran Le Cong Dien (Le Loi Secondary School) said: "I felt relieved after finishing the literature exam. I had a lot of emotions when I analyzed the poem in the literary essay section because there I could relate a lot to my feelings for my father. I guess I will definitely get a high score."
The 10th grade entrance exam in Da Nang City continues with foreign language this afternoon, June 2. Tomorrow morning (June 3), candidates will take the math exam; candidates for Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted will take the specialized subject exam on the morning of June 4.
