"Vietnam Cultural Day 2024" to promote tourism is organized by the Vietnamese community living and studying in New Zealand during the annual festival and tourism season.
On November 16, the event "Vietnam Cultural Day 2024" took place at the Memorial Theater, on the campus of Victoria University of Wellington in the capital of New Zealand.
The event was organized by the Vietnamese Student Association in New Zealand, the Wellington Student Association in collaboration with the Vietnamese Association in Wellington and the Vietnamese Embassy.
Held annually, the event is part of a series of cultural promotion and tourism promotion activities organized by the Vietnamese community living and studying in New Zealand during the annual festival and tourism season.
With the theme "Carrying Youth" bearing the youthful and creative features of students, the program is meticulously constructed, with dance and folk songs interwoven between traditional and modern music . Performances such as dance, solo, and duet will bring familiar melodies, contributing to vividly recreating the cultural space of the Vietnamese people, introducing it to international friends.
The highlight of the program is the traditional Ao Dai performance, bringing the audience back to the youthful images of Vietnam past and present. The participation for the first time of the dance group of the Women's Association of the Vietnamese Community in Wellington, which was newly established in early 2024, is also a unique feature of this year's event.
The show also left memorable moments in the hearts of attendees, such as the piano solo by artist Hong Ngan with lyrical songs about Vietnam or the souvenir photo session in spaces decorated with bold Vietnamese folklore.
The program ended with an intimate dinner party, where guests and attendees enjoyed traditional cuisine introduced by Vietnamese restaurants here.
The annual cultural event is an opportunity for Vietnamese people living abroad in New Zealand to reminisce, introduce and share Vietnamese culture with local friends and international students in the capital Wellington, while also honoring traditional Vietnamese values and looking back to the nation's roots.
The event also marked the 15th anniversary of the Vietnamese Students' Association in Wellington, the core of the student movement in New Zealand, which has made many contributions to spreading the beauty of Vietnamese culture to international friends./.
