In response to information circulating on social networks regarding 6,255 gold bars that were allegedly produced illegally, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited - SJC affirmed that all SJC gold bar products circulating on the market meet quality standards and comply with legal regulations.
In recent days, information about Ms. Le Thuy Hang, former General Director of SJC, being accused of being involved in the act of bringing materials of unknown origin into the gold processing process for the State Bank, leading to the "illegal production of 6,255 taels of gold bars," has caused many concerns in public opinion.
Some opinions expressed concerns about the quality of gold bars produced by SJC during Ms. Hang's time as manager; at the same time, they proposed that measures should be taken to check and even recall the gold that has been put on the market if violations are detected.
Speaking to the press, a representative of SJC affirmed that the information on recent websites about the quality of gold bars not being guaranteed is completely false. All products manufactured and processed by SJC comply with strict control procedures, ensuring the correct content, weight and quality as declared.
According to SJC, as the only enterprise in Vietnam assigned by the State to produce gold bars, SJC currently operates the entire production process according to the international quality management system ISO 9001:2015.
This system ensures absolute precision in every step, from input material inspection, stamping, quality control, to gold content testing and finished product packaging.
Specifically, each SJC gold bar is weighed exactly 37.5 grams before being stamped. The quality control department then checks each product. The qualified pieces will be individually serial numbered and tested for gold content using advanced technology before being packaged and shipped.
In recent times, SJC gold bar products circulating on the market have been closely monitored by state management agencies, ensuring compliance with technical standards and declared quality.
In response to the question about the quantity of gold bars involved in the case under investigation, Mr. Dao Cong Thang, Acting General Director of SJC Company, affirmed that SJC's multi-layered control system is capable of screening and preventing the release of substandard products to the market. Therefore, the quantity of 6,255 taels of gold circulating on the market still meets the normal circulation standards.
SJC representative also affirmed SJC's commitment to ensuring the legitimate rights of customers, as well as transparency in all product production and distribution activities.
As a key state-owned enterprise in the gold, silver, and gemstone sector, SJC said it will continue to supply the market with products of the right quality, with the right gold age, clear origin, and ensuring absolute safety for consumers.
The case involving 6,255 taels of gold is currently under investigation by the authorities. Official information will be released after the conclusion of the investigation.
