Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Long An Department of Industry and Trade - Huynh Van Quang Hung shared that Long An Department of Industry and Trade was established on April 7, 2008 on the basis of merging the Department of Industry with the Department of Trade and Tourism according to Decision No. 774/QD-UBND, dated March 31, 2008 of Long An Provincial People's Committee. After 16 years of establishment, construction and development with 4 times of adjusting the number of departments and affiliated units to suit the actual situation and regulations of the law.

During the process of establishment, construction and development, the Department of Industry and Trade has experienced many difficulties, but with the deep concern, timely leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade ; the enthusiastic coordination of provincial and local departments, branches and sectors; the consensus of organizations, individuals and the business community, and the People have helped the Industry and Trade sector to be more steadfast in performing its duties and tasks, making an important contribution to the development of the province.
