Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Phuc outlined the situation of agricultural and rural development in the area. Accordingly, the production value to date has reached 245 million VND/ha, an increase of 28.3% compared to 2020. It is estimated that by the end of 2025, it will increase to 260 million VND/ha.
By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 66,873 hectares of high-tech agricultural production, an increase of 6,647 hectares compared to 2020.

Of which, the mulberry material area of Lam Dong province is newly planted about 700 hectares each year, the area converted to new high-yield mulberry varieties is about 300 hectares, with an average yield of 22 - 23 tons/ha.
The whole province has over 150 cocoon purchasing facilities, 36 silk reeling facilities (capacity of 1 ton of cocoons/facility/day). Lam Dong’s silk and raw silk products are exported to India, China, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Korea, etc.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has granted certificates of recognition to 6 silkworm villages: Dong Anh 3, Dong Anh 5 (Lam Ha); Loc Tan (Bao Lam); Dak Mang (Dam Rong); Xuan Phong, Da Kho (Da Huoai).
Up to now, the total mulberry area of Lam Dong accounts for 70% of the country's area, the processed silk output accounts for over 70% of the country's cocoon output. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment said that the total agricultural land area of Hanoi is 197,428 hectares, accounting for 58.8% of the natural land area. The growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fishery in 2024 increased by 2.52% over the same period. Agricultural export turnover is more than 2 billion USD.
The whole city of Hanoi recognized 606 OCOP products, including 10 potential 5-star products, 98 4-star products; 337 craft villages, traditional crafts and traditional craft villages were recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee in 25 districts, towns, and cities, achieving a production value of over 24,000 billion VND.

Of which, the two craft villages of Bat Trang Ceramics and Van Phuc Silk Weaving are recognized as members of the World Network of Creative Craft Cities. Hanoi craft village products are exported to 89 countries and territories, of which the majority are traditional markets such as the United States, EU, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, etc.
Currently, the stable demand for raw materials for Hanoi's craft villages is estimated at 50,000 tons/year of silk for weaving and embroidery; 10,000 tons of white clay and kaolin for ceramic production...

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa hopes to coordinate with Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize a chain of production and consumption of Lam Dong agricultural products in general, and silk products in particular, in the coming time.
Accordingly, Hanoi craft village enterprises register their demand for Lam Dong silk consumption according to product quality standards from technical production process to harvesting. Thereby, Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment provides information, exchanges with enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities, and farming households to cooperate in concentrated production, suitable to the weather and land conditions of each region.
In particular, in 2025, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment will organize many trade promotion activities in the silk sector on a national and international scale, creating more opportunities for Lam Dong and Hanoi businesses to connect in trade, expand the production chain, and stabilize long-term consumption.
