On May 30, in response to information about the Dong Nai Department of Health issuing a food safety conclusion on "Nestlé Milo barley milk supplement" of Nestlé Vietnam Limited Liability Company, Nestlé Vietnam affirmed that the product "Nestlé Milo barley milk supplement" always complies with regulations related to food quality and safety.
The product "Nestlé Milo barley milk supplement" meets all the quality requirements and nutritional needs of Vietnamese consumers.
Information related to the research topic in Decision No. 1016/QD-VDD in 2022 of the Institute of Nutrition shown on the packaging has been carried out in accordance with the necessary procedures and processes, in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
Nestlé Vietnam said it is continuing to work with authorities on this issue.
On May 29, Dong Nai Department of Health sent report No. 2886/SYT-ATTP to the Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health ) and Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee reporting on the progress of inspection, verification, and clarification of information about advertising of the product "Nestlé Milo barley milk supplement" of Nestlé Vietnam Limited Liability Company (located in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Bien Hoa city).
The content of the report clearly stated that in implementing Official Dispatch No. 6246/UBND-KGVX dated May 22, 2025 of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province on inspecting and strictly handling organizations and individuals involved in the production, business, advertising, and sale of poor quality food, the Department of Health issued Documents No. 2664/SYT-ATTP dated May 21, 2025 and 2739/SYT-ATTP dated May 23 to report to the Provincial People's Committee on the progress of inspection, verification, and clarification of information about advertising the product "Nestlé Milo barley milk supplement" of Nestlé Vietnam Limited Liability Company.
On May 28, the Department of Health coordinated with relevant departments and branches to hold a meeting to unify the handling of food safety inspections at Nestlé Vietnam Limited Company.
At the meeting, through checking and reviewing related documents, the representative of the Department of Health and the Inspection Team agreed: "determining that the case has signs of consumer fraud, customers should recommend that the Department of Health issue a document transferring the case file to the police investigation agency."
On May 29, the Department of Health issued a document transferring the case file and handing over all related documents to the police investigation agency for verification, clarification and handling according to the provisions of law.
Previously, on May 16, the Food Safety Department issued Official Dispatch No. 1030/ATTP-NDTT requesting the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Health to inspect, verify information and handle violations (if any) in advertising activities of Nestlé Milo products./.
