Exciting "Green Torch" volunteer campaign in Duong Minh Chau district

Students of the University of Information Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University and youth union members of Phuoc Minh commune carry out the project of Lighting up the countryside roads.

The volunteer team with 42 students joined hands with the union members and youth of Phuoc Minh commune to carry out many practical activities, projects and tasks such as: lighting up the countryside roads with solar lights; making meaningful meals - visiting, giving gifts and cooking with single-parent and disadvantaged families; implementing green - clean - beautiful roads; promoting the cashless market; training local union members and youth in designing infographics for propaganda work.

Students help people make QR codes and make cashless payments.

In addition, you also organize activities to care for children such as the Technology Festival for Children - organizing 10 science and technology booths for students of Phuoc Minh Secondary School; the music night Sing for Children - giving away bookshelves and scholarships to students... The total value of resources to carry out the projects and tasks is over 50 million VND.

Green Torch is an annual volunteer campaign organized by the Faculty of Computer Networks and Communications, University of Information Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. The campaign includes a series of activities to serve the community, helping unfortunate lives, children in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people and showing gratitude to families with meritorious services.

Students organize a cultural program to serve the people of Phuoc Minh commune.

This year's program is organized to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025); the 4th Congress of the Party Committee of the University of Information Technology, term 2025-2030; the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The meaningful and practical activities of the young people of the Volunteer Team of the University of Information Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University have contributed to joining hands with the locality in implementing the movement of building new rural areas, improving digital capacity for local people.

This is also an opportunity for students, union members and young people of the school to promote their pioneering and volunteering roles, using their expertise to serve the community; helping young people gain practical experience, hone their skills, train themselves, know how to live a dedicated life and become more mature.
