Exciting Organic Rice Festival in An Thanh Commune (Tu Ky)

The People's Committee of An Thanh Commune, Tu Ky District (Hai Duong) organized the Organic Rice Festival in 2025. This is the fourth year the event has been held.

On the afternoon of June 15, at the Soi culvert area in Thanh Ky village, the People's Committee of An Thanh commune (Tu Ky) organized the Organic Rice Festival 2025.

The organic rice harvesting competition is the most unique feature of the festival. In the photo: This year's competition attracted 3 teams from An Dinh, An Lao and Thanh Ky villages, An Thanh commune to participate.

Each team consists of 10 members, competing to manually harvest 200 m2 of rice in 20 minutes.

Up to now, the whole An Thanh commune has 325 hectares of organic production combined with exploitation of earthworms and clams. The average earthworm yield is 450 tons/year, clams 200 tons/year; the product value reaches 400 - 450 million VND/ha/year, 8 - 10 times higher than inorganic intensive farming.

Tu Ky district currently has 41 OCOP certified products, including 17 products from organic production areas combined with exploitation of earthworms and clams certified as OCOP products.
