Son La strives to complete the elimination of temporary houses by 2025

In recent times, Son La province has always paid attention to directing the implementation of housing support policies for people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households... Specifically, implementing Decision No. 22 of the Government on housing support policies for people with revolutionary contributions, by the end of 2019, Son La province has completed housing support for 11,563 cases. Implementing Decision No. 33 dated August 10, 2015 of the Prime Minister on housing support policies for poor households according to the poverty line for the period 2011-2015: by the end of 2020, the province has supported 6,236 households/10,157, reaching 61.4% compared to the approved Project with a total cost of 155.7 billion VND. In 2020, with the support of the Ministry of Public Security and Hung Yen province: Son La province implemented the Project "Supporting poor households with housing difficulties in Van Ho district", thereby eliminating 1,244 temporary, dilapidated houses, with a budget of nearly 50 billion VND. With the support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade and organizations and individuals..., Son La province issued the Project "Supporting poor households with housing difficulties in Sop Cop district for the period 2020-2025"; by 2021, Sop Cop district had completed housing support for 452 households, with a total budget of over 26.4 billion VND. In addition to state support policies, in the period 2016 - 2020, Son La province has socialized over 147.1 billion VND to support housing for 4,420 poor households.

At the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, through a review in Son La province, there were 10,595 households with housing difficulties that needed to be repaired and renovated, with a total estimated cost of over 424.1 billion VND. On that basis, Son La province issued Decision No. 337 dated March 2, 2021 approving the Project "Mobilizing resources to support poor households with housing difficulties, period 2021 - 2025", with the goal of mobilizing all resources, striving to complete the support for 100% of poor households with housing difficulties by the end of 2025. As a result, to date, over 8,400 households have been supported to eliminate temporary houses with a total cost of over 342.2 billion VND; 10/12 districts and cities have completed 100% of the elimination of temporary houses for poor households with housing difficulties. The remaining two districts, Thuan Chau and Mai Son, need to continue implementation, with a total estimated cost of over 80 billion VND.

With the funding source to support Son La province at the launching ceremony, comrade Nguyen Huu Dong suggested that the Party committees and authorities at all levels pay attention to allocating resources, continuing to mobilize businesses and philanthropists to effectively launch the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, spreading the spirit of helping the poor, striving to complete the elimination of temporary houses for the two districts of Thuan Chau and Mai Son in 2024 and 2025. At the same time, do a good job of managing and settling the support capital; emulation and reward work for organizations and individuals. For districts that have completed the elimination of temporary houses, the Provincial Party Secretary suggested that the districts continue to review the arising households to have sustainable solutions, stabilizing the lives of people in the localities./.
