Due to the impact of storm No. 5, the water level of the Tich River in Kieu Phu commune rose to 8.26m, exceeding the level III alarm by 0.26m. Floodwaters flooded some roads outside the dike, overflowing into residential areas in the villages of Thong Dat, Liep Mai, Ben Voi, Cay Chay, Muon, Ro, Ngoc Bai... with nearly 200 households affected.
In addition, the flood also caused flooding of nearly 200 hectares of rice in the ear-forming stage in the villages of Ngoc Phuc, Ngoc Bai, Bai Ngoai, Bai Noi, and Can Thuong; many concentrated livestock farming areas were also flooded. At the Dong Vong and Cay Khe dykes, the rising water level caused the dykes to overflow, causing many landslides at the foot of the dykes, directly threatening the safety of flood prevention works, production, and the lives of local people.

To ensure the rice and vegetable areas, the Commune People's Committee directed the Quoc Oai Irrigation Enterprise to operate 7 pumping stations with 24 units; mobilize forces and 3,000 sacks, 100m3 of soil, sand, 3 excavators to participate in preventing overflow of the Cay Khe dike area and Dong Vong dike. During the process of implementing flood prevention and control, the leaders of Kieu Phu commune were regularly on duty at the scene to directly command and encourage the participating forces.
Thanks to the close coordination and determination of the forces, by the afternoon of the same day, the weak points on the dike had been basically overcome, minimizing the risk of insecurity. The timely mobilization of military forces to support the reinforcement of the dike not only contributed to ensuring the safety of important flood prevention and control works, protecting hundreds of hectares of rice and the lives of people outside the Ta Tich dike, but also demonstrated the spirit of military-civilian solidarity, the close and timely direction of the Party Committee and the government of Kieu Phu commune in the work of natural disaster prevention and control.
Below are some images of military forces and people actively participating in preventing landslides and dike overflows.
