The Vietnam Oil and Gas Operating Company (PVEP POC) informed that in the late afternoon of May 21, an incident occurred at the Song Doc mine, off the coast of Southwest Vietnam.

Song Doc mine has been exhausted and stopped exploitation since February 2024, no longer in production; currently, mine cleanup work is being carried out according to the approved plan.

Immediately after the incident occurred, response work was urgently deployed and after only about 30 minutes, the incident was completely controlled, causing no impact on the environment.

This incident also does not affect the normal exploitation and production activities at other oil and gas projects.

Currently, PVEP POC has controlled this unfortunate incident and is continuing to coordinate with relevant parties to clarify the cause.
