On December 15, the 16th Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament 2023 ended in an exciting and joyful atmosphere among the press and fans nationwide.

In this year's organization, the Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament gathered 40 registered delegations with 190 athletes participating in the competition. The matches in the tournament were arranged by the organizing committee according to strict standards towards a professional season, demonstrated through technical infrastructure, qualified referees, and athletes arranged in a disciplined and scientific competition lineup. It can be said that for this year's organization, the Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament has gone beyond a grassroots tournament.

For athletes who are journalists who are passionate about table tennis, the tournament is attended with eagerness and enthusiasm, because this is not only a place to compete and improve their skills, but also a useful playground that contributes to motivating and encouraging the working spirit and creativity of the members, thereby contributing to improving the quality of the Association's activities.

Coming from a very far away place, journalist Tran Anh Tuan - Lam Dong Province Journalists Association shared that right after receiving the document from the Vietnam Journalists Association, Lam Dong Province Journalists Association started to deploy for athletes to practice and organize competitions to select the best players to send to participate in the tournament.

"2023 is the first time the Lam Dong Provincial Journalists Association has organized a delegation of athletes to Hanoi to participate in the Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament. We are extremely excited, practicing and preparing with the most enthusiastic spirit when coming to the tournament. The schedule and competition conditions are arranged very professionally by the Organizing Committee. We hope that the tournament will continue to be held annually for a long time so that journalists have the opportunity to meet, compete, and exchange to enhance the spirit of solidarity of journalists who share a common passion across the country," said journalist Tran Anh Tuan.

Participating since 2017, but this is the first time Tran Minh Cat Vu - Ho Chi Minh City Television won First Prize, she happily said, compared to previous years, the scale of the tournament has been expanded, the quality has been improved, the carpet field is neatly laid out to help the athletes compete with the best spirit. Commenting on the quality of the athletes, journalist Tran Minh Cat Vu said, this year's athletes have prepared very carefully, compared to last year, the level of technical expertise has been greatly improved, so the matches were extremely tense and took a lot of effort.

"With the nature of the job of a reporter or editor, we have to travel to many places, meet many people and different situations. Moreover, we often have to stay up all night to report and edit articles. Exercising is extremely necessary to improve our health and spirit. In particular, practicing with the aim of participating in a prestigious tournament becomes much more exciting. The Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament has created an extremely valuable opportunity for journalists across the country to practice and learn together," Tran Minh Cat Vu shared.

To have a truly quality and prestigious tournament, commensurate with the progress after 15 times of organizing the tournament, in the condition of both ensuring the implementation of professional tasks and actively responding to the Association's activities, the Journalists Association at all levels and press agencies have always paid attention to encouraging and directing the vibrant table tennis movement from the grassroots.

Since then, the passion for table tennis of journalists and members has been fueled. Many new faces, young players competing with experienced players, many times winners before, have created the attraction of the tournament. The athletes have conquered the peak of the tournament convincingly in the love and admiration of comrades and colleagues.

During the 3 days of competition, the athletes have contributed to dramatic and exciting matches with a noble spirit in sports. Through the moments of competition, the technical and skillful balls demonstrated the efforts, dedication to sports, and the fierceness in competition of journalists across the country. To some extent, the Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament has raised the spirit, created a new source of motivation for journalists to be more enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to their writing career, with the mission of creating solid trust in the hearts of the public.

The results achieved at this year's tournament can be said to have far exceeded the expectations of the Organizing Committee. This will be the basis for the tournament to continue to be held in the following times.
