Having participated since ASIAD 2010, Ngo Huu Vuong has only won a bronze medal in his specialty in the last two games, and this time, he was really happy to change the color of the medal, bringing the highest achievement to the Vietnamese sports delegation after 2 days of competition. The leader of the shooting team, Vu Thi Anh Dao, said that Ngo Huu Vuong's silver medal was a strong motivation, encouraging his teammates to compete for better results in the following days. At ASIAD 2018, Vietnamese shooting only won 2 bronze medals, including Ngo Huu Vuong's individual 10m moving target air rifle and the mixed team 10m air pistol.

After bringing home the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th ASIAD in the women's single rowing quad sculls with a third place overall, the rowing team continued to win two more bronze medals on September 25, the final day of competition for this sport.
If the 4 rowers Bui Thi Thu Hien, Luong Thi Thao, Nguyen Thi Giang, Pham Thi Thao finished 3rd in the 4-boat women's double rowing heavyweight category, after the Chinese and Iranian teams, then about 1 hour later, the 8-boat women's double rowing team with Dinh Thi Hao, Du Thi Bong, Ha Thi Vui, Ho Thi Ly, Le Thi Hien, Pham Thi Hue, Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, Tran Thi Kiet continued to bring home the 3rd bronze medal with a time of 6 minutes 48 seconds 21, after 2 extremely strong opponents, China and Japan.
It is not difficult to recognize the four rowers Dinh Thi Hao, Du Thi Bong, Ha Thi Vui and Pham Thi Hue participating in both the four-woman single rowing boat and eight-woman double rowing boat, making important contributions to bringing home two bronze medals. The Vietnamese rowing team is in the process of generational transition but has a very good combination of young people and veteran athletes, in which Bui Thi Thu Hien, born in 2002, participated in the ASIAD for the first time, and Pham Thi Thao, born in 1989, gradually rose to the top of the continent, competing in the Olympic arena.
If the performance (taolu) events have not yet achieved the expected results, then in the combat competition (sanshou), Vietnamese wushu athletes are having a very good start: Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy entered the semi-finals of the women's 60 kg category; Bui Truong Giang entered the quarter-finals of the men's 60 kg category and Truong Van Chuong also achieved similar results in the men's 65 kg category.
After two days of competition, the Vietnamese sports delegation won 1 silver and 5 bronze medals, temporarily ranking 14th on the medal table. The top three positions belong to China (38 gold, 20 silver, 9 bronze), South Korea (9, 10, 13) and Japan (5, 13, 11).
