On the afternoon of June 19, the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation (VTF) held a press conference to announce two key tournaments in the national Taekwondo competition system in 2025, and officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CJ Vietnam Group.
Accordingly, the National Youth Taekwondo Championship - CJ 2025 will take place from June 21 to 25 at the Go Vap District Gymnasium. This is a tournament to select additional talents for the national team.
The Vietnam International Taekwondo Open - CJ 2025 will take place from June 27 to 28 at the Go Vap District Gymnasium. This is the first G1 international tournament organized by Vietnam, which is used to calculate ranking points for Olympic tickets.
With the support of CJ Vietnam Group, VTF said it will organize two more professional tournaments and according to the standards set by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). Especially the Vietnam International Taekwondo Open - CJ 2025 after many years of absence.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy - Vice President and General Secretary of VTF - informed: "Athletes will compete with electronic armor, with Video Replay (reviewing situations when there are complaints). Up to this point, more than 100 athletes from 13 countries and territories have registered to participate."
Speaking at the strategic cooperation signing ceremony, a representative of CJ Vietnam Group said that they will provide maximum support for Vietnamese taekwondo, not only through organizing tournaments but also in terms of expertise for the national team.
"We have sponsored Vietnam Taekwondo since 2012. From 2025, CJ will continue to support the organization of Vietnam Open G1 and expand international competition opportunities for Vietnamese athletes, while accompanying the development of young successors through a system of professional youth tournaments," said a representative of CJ Vietnam Group.
For his part, Mr. Truong Ngoc De - Chairman of VTF - affirmed: "This event not only demonstrates the strong vitality of Vietnamese taekwondo but is also a symbol of the spirit of international integration, connecting martial arts and culture between Vietnam and Korea through sports ".
