Young athlete Bui Tuan Tu had a brave sprint to bring home a precious silver medal in the men's 2,000m steeplechase for Vietnamese athletics.

Bui Tuan Tu's final result was 6 minutes 05 seconds 74, less than gold medalist Xu Chengwei (5 minutes 52 seconds 99) and nearly 1 second more than bronze medalist Mohammad Alidoustishahraki (Iran).

This is not only Tuan Tu's first silver medal at a continental competition, but also a proud achievement, affirming the potential of young Vietnamese athletics.
Previously, Golf brought home 2 silver medals for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation. Specifically, in the men's individual event, Nguyen Tuan Anh scored -11 points, winning the individual silver medal.
In the men's singles results, Doan Uy ranked behind Nguyen Tuan Anh when he finished 4th overall with a score of -3. In terms of team points, Doan Uy and Nguyen Tuan Anh won the runner-up position with a total score of -14, winning the silver medal.
Meanwhile, Taekwondo is the team that brought home the first medal for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at AYG 2025.

That was the silver medal of athlete Hoang Thi Thu Huyen in the women's under 44kg category. The remaining two bronze medals of Taekwondo were won by martial artist Tran Ho Nhan Van in the men's over 73kg category and Bui Mai Phuong in the women's over 63kg category.
Currently, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has 4 silver and 4 bronze medals, temporarily ranking 21st on the overall rankings.
Vietnam Sports participates in AYG 2025 with 75 members, including 50 athletes and 15 coaches.
The Vietnamese delegation competed in 11 sports, including: Badminton (1 athlete), Jujitsu (5), Boxing (3), Judo (2), wrestling (4), athletics (2), Golf (6), weightlifting (4), Taekwondo (6), cycling (6), Muay (11).
At the most recent congress in 2013 in Nanjing (China), Vietnamese sports competed very successfully, winning 5 gold medals thanks to Nguyen Thi Anh Vien (3 gold medals, swimming), Ly Hoang Nam (1 gold medal, tennis) and Nguyen Thi Truc Mai (1 gold medal, athletics).
