Identifying 5 Northern teams to participate in the National Student Basketball Finals

The University of Transport (men's) and the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (women's) won the championship in the Northern qualifying round of the 2025 National Student Basketball Tournament.

The two final matches of the 2025 National Student Basketball Tournament - Cup TV 360 ended on the afternoon of October 27, witnessing the coronation of the men's team of the University of Transport (UTC) and Hanoi National University (VNU).

UTC dominates in the Northern Regional Final

In the Northern Regional Finals, UTC defeated the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (UEB) 60-48. Although UEB was the Northern Champion last season, thanks to the excellent performance of Nguyen Van Truong - the best player in the Northern qualifiers - and a series of consecutive 3-point shots, UTC won convincingly. UTC is also the first team to win the Northern Regional Championship twice.

UTC became the first team in the region to win the championship twice.

Meanwhile, in the women's final, VNU defeated Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) with a score of 36-25. VNU also had the best female athlete Vu Mai Anh.

Thus, after 13 consecutive days of competition from October 15-27 with 56 men's teams and 32 women's teams, the Northern region qualifying round has determined 5 names to enter the National Finals (3 men's, 2 women's): UTC, UEB, NEU (men's) and VNU, HNUE (women's). These teams, along with the host Hanoi University of Science and Technology and representatives from the Central and Southern regions, will compete in the National Finals taking place from November 6 to 16.
