Due to the impact of the floods that occurred last July, large cracks appeared in Tang village, causing the risk of landslides and rockslides, affecting 15 households. Through inspection, the authorities recorded at the scene cracks about 30m long and 10cm wide; many rocks had separated and rolled down to the coffee plantation area. Realizing the high risk of causing insecurity for people living in this area, Nam Lau commune urgently evacuated 15 affected households from the dangerous area.

Accordingly, since the beginning of August, 15 households directly affected are being temporarily housed at the health station, the commune police headquarters and with relatives in the village. Visiting the lives of 4 households temporarily staying at the commune health station, we saw that people are working together to overcome temporary difficulties so that the province and local authorities can arrange new housing.

Households in need of emergency evacuation are temporarily staying in the area of the Commune Health Station.

Mr. Quang Van Luong, Tang village, Nam Lau commune, is one of 15 households affected by the natural disaster. He shared: Currently, my family of 5 is temporarily staying in a room of the Commune Health Station. The room is quite small, so it is quite inconvenient, and does not ensure the children's education. We really hope that the construction unit will quickly carry out site clearance, helping us to soon build a house, stabilize our lives and ensure the children's education.

After detecting the landslide, the Commune People's Committee quickly evacuated assets and people to a safe place. At the same time, it reported to the Provincial People's Committee and deployed the search for construction sites and resettlement for 15 households with priority given to on-site resettlement. The Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2561/QD-UBND dated October 15, 2025, issuing an Order for urgent construction of the project: Arranging and relocating residents in areas at risk of landslides and rockfalls in Tang village, Nam Lau commune, to ensure safety and stabilize the lives of households in areas affected by natural disasters.

Households temporarily stay and live in the medical examination area of the Health Station.

The resettlement of 15 households in Tang village is carried out on-site, the construction site is located in the central area of the village, ensuring long-term safety and stability. The project has a scale of 1.7 hectares, a total investment of over 11 billion VND and is divided into 2 phases. In which, phase 1, site clearance, construction of essential items to ensure minimum housing and living conditions for the people. It is expected that phase 1 of the project will be completed before December 31, 2025, creating conditions for people to build houses and stabilize their lives.

According to the design, each household is granted 250 - 350 m2 of land at the resettlement site, this land is located about 100m from the Nam Lau - Muong Chanh inter-commune road, creating favorable conditions for people to develop business and services. At the same time, appropriate planning helps the locality to build a master plan for economic and social development in the period of 2025-2030 and the following years.

Mr. Nguyen Van Muon, Director of Viet Hoan Construction One Member Co., Ltd. - the construction unit of phase 1 of the project, said: After being selected as the construction unit, we mobilized a large number of vehicles and machinery to level the ground according to the approved design plan. Through the survey, the land chosen as the resettlement site is rice-growing land, the ground is relatively weak. Therefore, we will carry out measures to compact the ground. From there, ensure the ground is hard, meeting the needs of people to build long-term solid houses. We have also arranged water and electricity supply locations for people when handing over the land so that households can build houses.

Provincial and Nam Lau commune leaders held the groundbreaking ceremony.

After completing phase 1 of the project, initially stabilizing the lives of the people, phase 2 of the project will deploy and complete the infrastructure works. Accordingly, the traffic system includes the road to the residential area with a length of about 300 m; width of 3.5 m; road thickness of 18 cm. In addition, the domestic water supply system, electricity, wastewater collection cluster, and drainage channel for the residential area will be implemented simultaneously.

Mr. Cam Bun Loc, Chairman of Nam Lau Commune People's Committee, said: After the groundbreaking ceremony, the Commune People's Committee established a working group to regularly monitor and urge the construction progress of phase 1, ensuring that people can live in their new houses before the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026. During the construction process, the Commune People's Committee requested the construction unit to ensure the progress; promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee any difficulties and problems to seek advice on solutions. At the same time, the land recovery at the landslide location was carried out and the land use purpose in this area was converted in accordance with the provisions of law.
