New MU recruit receives praise from Alex Ferguson

Legend Sir Alex Ferguson praised Senne Lammens after an impressive start at Old Trafford.

Alex Ferguson confirmed that Lammens is an excellent goalkeeper.

At the international horse racing tournament in Bahrain, Sir Alex Ferguson praised Lammens: "He's been excellent. He's only played three or four games but he's looked very impressive. Of course, Mbeumo and Cunha have also contributed significantly since joining the team."

Ferguson also put his faith in coach Ruben Amorim: "There are signs that they are getting used to the new coach. I hope he will reap success. A series of consecutive wins is what a team like MU should aim for. The improvement process sometimes takes time and patience, and now they are enjoying the results."

After a disastrous 2024/25 season with a 15th place finish in the Premier League, MU is determined to reform the squad. The Manchester club spent a total of about 215 million pounds to bring in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon, Benjamin Sesko and goalkeeper Senne Lammens in the summer of 2025.

Notably, Lammens quickly became the bright spot of the "Red Devils". The Belgian goalkeeper impressed with his composure and solid technical foundation. Last season, Lammens played 30 matches in the Belgian Pro League, kept 7 clean sheets, and led in total saves (173) with a success rate of 77.4%.

With Lammens' stable form and quality new recruits, MU is gradually regaining the trust of fans, thereby opening up hope for a promising season.
