Strengthening orientation and improving the quality of press activities in the new situation

According to the report at the Conference, in the third quarter, the direction and orientation of press activities continued to be implemented synchronously, promptly, closely following the political tasks of the province. Press agencies focused on widely propagating the results of the 15th Lai Chau Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, the implementation of the two-level local government model, national target programs, the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, as well as the achievements in socio-economic development, ensuring national defense - security, and foreign affairs of the province; Special topic on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in 2025... The propaganda content was carried out in accordance with the principles and purposes, clearly demonstrating the role of the press as the main information channel, contributing to creating social consensus and strengthening people's trust in the Party and the government.

Central press agencies stationed in Lai Chau such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Voice of Vietnam Radio ... have closely coordinated with the locality in propaganda, publishing hundreds of news, articles, photos, reports, timely and honest information on political, economic and social fields. Nhan Dan Newspaper has 61 news, articles, 143 photos; VOV has 69 news, articles, 78 photos and 3 photo reports; Vietnam News Agency has 15 television reports, 68 news, articles, 384 photos promoting Lai Chau.

Lai Chau Newspaper, Radio and Television published 54 issues, 9 for the highland people, 14 weekend issues; produced, exploited, and purchased broadcasting rights: 2,282 television programs and 2,049 radio programs with thousands of news, articles, reports, topics, and columns to comprehensively propagate the political, economic, cultural, and social life of the locality. Columns such as "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style", "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation", "Examples of good people, good deeds" were maintained regularly, contributing to spreading positive information.

Lai Chau Literature and Arts Magazine published 3 issues; the Provincial Electronic Information Portal posted 4,287 news, articles, photos, and documents; the Provincial Party Committee's Electronic Information Page posted 497 news, articles, photos, and documents. The Provincial External Information Portal posted 175 news, articles, photos, reports, video clips, etc. Thereby continuing to promote the role of propaganda and promotion of the image, potential, and strengths of Lai Chau to a large number of friends at home and abroad.

State management of the press has been carried out seriously and effectively. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised competent authorities to issue 30 documents guiding propaganda; granted and assessed 17 licenses and 3 approval documents in the field of press and publishing; and well implemented the reception, archiving and checking of the content of press publications in the area. The work of reviewing news and monitoring press information and social networks has been maintained regularly, in the quarter, over 20,000 news and articles about Lai Chau were recorded.

Discussions at the Conference focused on the direction, management and press activities in the third quarter; some shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome, the headquarters of the permanent agency, the work of speaking and providing information to the press...

Concluding the Conference, Comrade Le Duc Duc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission acknowledged and commended the efforts, sense of responsibility and important contributions of the press agencies in the past time. Despite many difficulties, the press agencies have been proactive, flexible, and have completed their propaganda tasks well, promptly and comprehensively reflecting the political, economic and social life of the province; effectively coordinating with local Party committees, authorities and management agencies, orienting information, strictly adhering to the principles, purposes and professional ethics of journalists.

In addition to the achievements, comrade Le Duc Duc also frankly pointed out some limitations that need to be overcome such as: The provincial press has not been bold in innovation, there is a lack of works with in-depth analysis and criticism, there is not much "new wind" in the way of expressing and producing press products. He emphasized that after the 15th Provincial Party Congress, the workload is very large, requiring press agencies to speed up, proactively develop specific plans, and deploy tasks close to the practical situation.

He requested that press agencies closely follow the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, promptly reflect on the study, understanding and implementation of the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, especially in propagating the province's new policies and solutions; focus on analyzing and reflecting in depth the advantages, difficulties and outstanding issues at the grassroots level; especially propagating, explaining and creating consensus among the people on the policy of building inter-level boarding schools in border areas - a major policy of long-term significance in developing human resources in mountainous areas.

He requested press agencies to continue to uphold their principles and goals, innovate and improve content quality, review the system of specialized pages and columns to suit propaganda orientations and actual conditions; add new, modern and attractive forms of expression, and strongly spread positive information to the public.

At the same time, it is necessary to perfect the organizational structure, assign tasks clearly and reasonably, seriously implement and actively coordinate in advising on the development of the Provincial Party Standing Committee's Directive on press work in the new situation.

The opinions and recommendations raised at the Conference will be fully received and synthesized, serving as a basis for the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee and relevant agencies to propose and remove difficulties, successfully completing the press work tasks in the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2025.
