On the morning of August 23, via online form, Dong A University and Osaka Prefecture (Japan) have officially reached a comprehensive cooperation agreement on internship and employment programs for nursing students in Japan.

Signing with Osaka Prefecture - a locality known as the heart of the Kansai urban triangle (including the three cities of Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe), is the next strategic cooperation in training and supplying quality human resources to work in Japan in a network of more than 100 units, including major cities and Japanese corporate and business partners that are collaborating with Dong A University.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Yoshida Shinji - Director of the Osaka Prefecture Welfare Department, Japan, commented: "Internship and work programs in Japan not only contribute to solving the problem of nursing shortage in Japan but also bring great benefits to the future of Vietnam".

Mr. Yoshida also expressed his hope that the students of Dong A University will study and achieve good results, accumulate many valuable skills and experiences in Osaka - one of the places with the leading nursing technology in Asia; after returning home, they will become valuable human resources, serving the country.

According to the signed document, the Osaka Welfare Department is the unit that receives and directly implements the internship program from 9 months to 1 year and employment for nursing students of Dong A University at the Osaka medical facility system. The admission roadmap is from 2024 onwards with 10 students per year.

At the same time, the Osaka Prefecture Welfare Department also supports East Asia University students to improve their nursing skills as well as receive nursing care jobs when they come to work in Osaka Prefecture - the second largest city in Japan with a population of 19 million, the industrial center and main port, the heart of the Kansai metropolitan area.

During the 9-month to 1-year internship, students will practice their professional skills, access the advanced working environment and methods in Japan, and improve their Japanese language skills. After completing the internship program, students will return to school to complete their studies at Dong A University. This is also a preparation stage for students who wish to work in Japan to enter the official work program after graduation or become high-quality human resources at local medical facilities, contributing to the development of their homeland.

After signing the agreement, the Osaka Prefecture Welfare Department, Japan also met and had online discussions with nursing students from Dong A University who registered to work under the Osaka program. These are the first students of this cooperation, who will participate in an interview in September to "win a place" to work at Osaka Prefecture in 2024.

According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao - President of Dong A University, the cooperative relationship with Japan, which is also the strategic orientation of the university, has developed in depth over the past 10 years. Currently, the cooperation model on training programs, internships and work between the university and Japanese partners is very effective. Japan has also provided many supports for students in Japanese language training, professional skills and culture to help students integrate and work well. It is expected that each year, Dong A University will send 300-500 students to Japan for internships and work in all fields. The number of students going to Japan will increase annually with the goal of reaching 700-1,000 students/year by 2025./.
