Promoting support for women's economic development

On the afternoon of October 20, speaking at the Meeting to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 15th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day, organized by the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Women's Union in coordination with the Ninh Kieu Ward Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen praised the continuous efforts of the female cadres and all female members of the city.

Can Tho City leaders suggested that the Women's Union at all levels continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation. The focus is to effectively implement the emulation movement "Building new-age women associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; promote support for women in economic development, especially in the field of digital transformation; replicate the movement "Each woman - a basic digital skill; Each association - a practical digital service"; support the development of standard OCOP products to expand development opportunities and enhance the value of Can Tho women's products. Each female leader, manager, and association officer constantly improves her mettle, qualifications, capacity, cultivates revolutionary ethics; is dedicated, devoted, loyal, united, responsible, wholeheartedly serving the people and the city's development; determined to overcome all difficulties and challenges to fulfill her tasks well, becoming a female cadre "Good at public affairs, good at housework"; dynamic, adaptable and integrated with modern society; has a strong political and ideological capacity, confident to contribute more to the homeland and country.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, President of the City Women's Union, emphasized that Can Tho women are very honored and proud to live in a homeland rich in revolutionary traditions. Inheriting and promoting that fine tradition, Can Tho women today will constantly strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges, actively participate and make important contributions to the city's socio-economic achievements.

The Women's Union and women of all walks of life in the city have successfully implemented the Resolution of the Women's Congress for the 2021-2026 term, achieving many positive results. The Women's Union at all levels has proactively innovated the content and methods of operation, diversified the forms of activities, and aimed at practical requirements that suit the needs and aspirations of women.

In recent times, the City Women's Union at all levels has launched and implemented many practical emulation movements, suitable for each target group, the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", building Vietnamese people of the new era, the movement "Women help each other develop the economy, reduce poverty sustainably", "Support women to start a business"...

Activities to care for women and children, both materially and spiritually, have been actively participated in by the Women's Union at all levels. Many orphans in difficult circumstances have been sponsored and can go to school with peace of mind. Many vulnerable women have been cared for, many migrant women have been supported to reintegrate into the community, making an important contribution to ensuring social security.

Affirming the role and position of women in the new era

On October 20, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 15th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province organized a meeting of female leaders of the province through the periods.

Mr. Tran Van Dung, Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that through revolutionary periods, Vietnamese women in general and Dong Thap women in particular have always promoted the qualities of "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and responsible", making great contributions to all areas of social life. In any position, they always strive, be creative, and complete assigned tasks well, making an important contribution to the overall development of the province.

The Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and respectfully commended the meaningful contributions and dedication of the women - the beautiful flowers in the brilliant flower garden of Dong Thap homeland; hoping that the women will continue to uphold the good tradition, constantly study, be creative, build happy families, and contribute to the sustainable development of the province.

On behalf of the female leaders and managers of Dong Thap province, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tuyet, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Home Affairs, expressed her gratitude to the provincial leaders for always paying attention and creating favorable conditions for the female staff to promote their capacity and complete their assigned tasks well. This is a great source of encouragement for the female management staff to constantly strive, study, be creative and contribute more, contributing to the overall development of Dong Thap province in the new period.

Over the past time, under the leadership, direction, coordination and facilitation of Party committees and authorities at all levels and promoting the fine traditions of Vietnamese women, Dong Thap women have always believed in the leadership of the Party, actively studied to improve their qualifications in all aspects; united, dynamic, creative, confident, and brave in labor, production, study and work; built happy families; implemented local socio-economic development programs; actively participated in Party building and state management, increasingly affirming their good qualities, great potential and important role in family and society.

Dong Thap province currently has 13 female members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, 3 members of the Standing Committee, including 2 female Deputy Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee. The number of female cadres participating in grassroots Party committees is 28.35%, 23/102 Party Secretaries at the commune level are female (accounting for 22.5%), 4 National Assembly deputies and 28 Provincial People's Council deputies are female. The above figures not only demonstrate the maturity of the female cadres, but also clearly show the attention of the Party Committees and authorities at all levels to women's work and female cadre work.
