Ho Chi Minh City: Vegetarian Food Festival 2025 helps spread green lifestyle

From October 31 to November 4, 2025, at Binh Phu Park (Binh Phu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), Binh Phu Ward People's Committee will coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association (FBA) and related units to organize the Vegetarian Food Festival 2025. This is a cultural - tourism - culinary event to honor the value of Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine and spread the message "Green living - Healthy living".

On the afternoon of October 20, Mr. Nguyen Tan Viet, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival, said that following the success of 2023, the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival is one of the highlight events of the city's culinary industry. This year's festival brings together hundreds of booths from restaurants, businesses, chefs, culinary artists and famous vegetarian brands at home and abroad, with the goal of promoting the quintessence of Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine, encouraging the community to move towards a green, environmentally friendly lifestyle.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Viet, the festival space is designed according to the model of "Green Festival - Zero Waste" with the support of the Vietnam Food Bank Network (Foodbank Vietnam) and the GreenHero Project. These are also the two units that will implement the "Food Waste Recycling Festival", contributing to creating a clean, beautiful and sustainable festival environment.

At the same time, the activity "Kitchen of Love - 1,000 free meals" jointly implemented by Chef Action Network, Ho Chi Minh City Chefs Association, Foodbank Vietnam and Volunteer Team of Ho Chi Minh City Artists Association will spread the spirit of volunteerism and sharing love to the community.

The 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival is not only an annual cultural and culinary event but also a social movement for the community.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Vice Chairwoman of Binh Phu Ward People's Committee, said: "We welcome and support events with many humanistic values ​​such as the 2025 Vegetarian Food Festival. This is not only an opportunity for people and tourists to enjoy exquisite vegetarian cuisine but also an opportunity to join hands to build a green, waste-free, loving and sharing community."

This year's festival, with the theme "Delicious in taste - Healthy in heart", brings a message about health, culture and environmental protection. Each vegetarian dish is delicately prepared, not only demonstrating culinary creativity but also conveying the philosophy of "clean eating - green living", connecting people with nature. In addition, the festival is also organized with a creative culinary space, an exhibition area of ​​OCOP, organic, macrobiotic, recycled products, along with cultural and artistic activities, talk shows, workshops and culinary performances.

The festival is expected to attract more than 200 business booths and 150,000 visitors to continue affirming the new symbol of the green cuisine - sustainable living - social responsibility movement through the event.

On this occasion, the organizers also organized a series of outstanding activities such as: International Vegetarian Cuisine Conference with more than 15 speakers from the US, India, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Brazil; Green Tourism - Green Economy - Green Cuisine Conference; competitions "Green Master Chef Vietnam 2025", "Green Future Chef Vietnam 2025", "Healthy Drink Vietnam 2025" and the charity program "Vegetarian Meal of Love Binh Phu" for children, the elderly and the disadvantaged.

Mr. Duong Thanh Dao, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association, said that this year's Festival is not only an annual cultural and culinary event but also a social movement for the community, contributing to shaping the trend of "Green Food - Green Super City - Green Future" of Ho Chi Minh City. Each participant is considered a "green ambassador", spreading the message of "Vegetarianism for health - Green living for the earth", aiming to build Ho Chi Minh City into a green super city - a sustainable culinary city of Vietnam.
