School culture is understood as a system of values expressed through the attitudes, behaviors and language of school members, complying with cultural and ethical standards recognized by society.
Therefore, building and maintaining a culture of behavior in schools is a necessary requirement, not only to improve the quality of education but also to help develop students' personalities.
According to Mr. Thai Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, schools are not only places to impart knowledge but also places to nurture people with cultural and ethical standards.
Each individual's awareness of cultural behavior will contribute to building a healthy, civilized educational environment, creating solidarity within the group. This is the basis for ensuring the quality of education for the school.
Currently, across the country, many schools have applied models to build a positive behavioral culture, thereby contributing to creating a friendly and effective educational environment.
For example, in Ca Mau , Tran Van Thoi High School has developed a code of conduct in the school based on regulations and rules on ethics and discipline in the educational environment for teachers, staff and students. This contributes to creating positive changes in the cultural environment in the school.
Besides focusing on professional issues, the school also regularly organizes extracurricular activities to help teachers and students have the opportunity to exchange and practice communication and behavioral skills.
Students participate in many school propaganda activities, from flag salutes to Civic Education lessons, through which they are trained in the ability to manage emotions and behave properly with friends and teachers. The school also places rules and slogans in many places in the school to encourage students to have correct awareness and good behavior.
Or at Ai Mo B Primary School (Hanoi), students are trained in daily conduct principles such as polite greetings, solidarity and respect for historical traditions. They also participate in extracurricular activities to develop necessary life skills.
At Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted (Thua Thien - Hue), this school always focuses on educating school culture associated with the typical cultural values of the ancient capital of Hue, such as polite standards in communication, love, forgiveness, and gratitude towards teachers and parents.
The culture of “4 xin” (hello, permission, sorry, thank you) is also encouraged in every student’s action. In addition, the school also focuses on student uniforms to be polite, elegant, and imbued with Hue cultural identity.
Teachers and students of the school all believe that "The class is a family" and "The school is a big family", always wishing and contributing to building "family" as a support, source of joy, faith, and pride for each student every day they go to school.
According to the leader of a secondary school in Ba Dinh (Hanoi), to build a culture of behavior in schools, models of happy schools, green, clean, and beautiful schools need to be replicated to create schools with a safe, friendly learning environment, respect for teachers, and education to form a system of good values for students.
“Training in cultural behavior is very useful for the development and maturity of students.
That not only contributes to limiting negative issues in the school and social environment but also helps students form good moral and emotional qualities, thereby becoming responsible and moral citizens in society," he said.
