According to Master of Psychology Nguyen Thai Hung, Director of the Center for Training, Fostering and Human Resources Development - Thai Nguyen University Branch in Ha Giang : Many students have not had much experience with competitions and exams, some of them are facing the exam for the first time with competition for the 10th grade and high school graduation exam. Therefore, it leads to a feeling of nervousness mixed with anxiety and certain stress. Especially, when the exam days are getting closer, the nervousness and anxiety make students easily feel unconfident with the knowledge they have learned; because there are many subjects in an exam, not all students can grasp, distribute study time evenly, and master all subjects, there are still subjects that they are not confident in their knowledge. This also makes students worried and lack confidence before entering the exam.
There are also psychological issues that can affect each student before the exam. Such as family factors with high expectations from parents and relatives for their children; before the exams, there are often many wishes from relatives and friends such as passing the first choice... which also makes students easily feel pressured; weather factors such as June is always hot, the body is easily tired, at the same time, for a long time, students repeat the review, study day and night, little physical exercise, sports also easily make students feel tired, sleepy, hoping the exam will pass soon... Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, in group 12, Tran Phu ward, Ha Giang city, whose child is taking the 10th grade entrance exam, said that this year is the first year that candidates will take the exam according to the new generaleducation program, with the new testing and assessment methods also causing certain concerns for students. In mid-February, Ha Giang just chose to take the History - Geography exam for 10th graders, causing many students taking the exam for Specialized schools to hastily switch from studying English to History - Geography and also face certain pressures.
June has come, the exam days are approaching, students feel more and more anxious and nervous. Therefore, in order for children to be able to stabilize their psychology to pass the exam, in addition to encouragement from teachers and schools, they need special care and attention from families. Parents and relatives need to be close and encourage their children during the exam preparation time, with the view of creating more motivation for them, not pressure.
