On November 23, in Hanoi , the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a conference combining in-person and online training on the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
In his opening speech, Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Head of the Election Steering Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, stated that the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is an important political event of the country taking place right after the 14th National Party Congress.
According to Mr. Thuy, this is a broad democratic activity among the people to promote mastery, select exemplary and worthy people to represent the will, aspirations and mastery of the people.
"There are only more than 3 months left until March 15, 2026, when all people will go to vote for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels," said Mr. Thuy.

According to Mr. Thuy, following the National Conference on the implementation of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term held by the National Election Council on November 15, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a training conference on the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term in both in-person and online formats for all cadres throughout the front system.
The goal is to continue to synchronously and uniformly deploy election work, and promptly guide and answer questions and issues arising during the election work.
Mr. Thuy said that starting from December 1, the Fatherland Front at all levels will begin the first round of consultation on the structure, number, and composition of candidates for delegates and prepare the following work for the second round of consultation (on February 2-3, 2026) and the third round of consultation coinciding with the Lunar New Year (from December 22 to the 4th day of the Lunar New Year).
Along with that, the Fatherland Front at all levels still has a lot of work to do in the short term and urgently, such as: Organizing conferences to introduce candidates, conferences to collect opinions and trust from voters at work and residence; checking and supervising the election process according to legal regulations...
According to Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, up to now, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has completed the tasks of participating in the development, submission, promulgation, and coordination of promulgation of legal documents and election guidance documents assigned by the National Election Council and within its authority.
The Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has also directed the development of an Election Handbook, which will be released in November and uploaded to the Electronic Election Handbook section on the Digital Front portal, according to Mr. Thuy.
Along with that, Mr. Thuy said, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has built and operated a specialized election information page on the "Digital Front Portal" to propagate and disseminate election work; receive feedback and recommendations from voters and people about the election,...

At the conference, delegates listened to reporters introduce and thoroughly grasp the documents regulating the responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the election; detailed instructions on the work of consultation, selection and introduction of candidates; the work of organizing conferences to collect voters' opinions at the workplace and residence of candidates; the work of inspecting and supervising the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
