Training on the implementation of the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration

On August 1, the Department of Foreign Affairs organized a training conference to improve capacity for officials at all levels on implementing the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in the province in 2024.

At the conference, reporters from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and the Department of Foreign Affairs conveyed a number of contents: Extensively propagating to officials at all levels in the province about Decision No. 402/QD-TTg, dated March 20, 2020 of the Prime Minister promulgating the Plan to implement the Global Compact on Global Migration Legal, Safe and Orderly Migration of the United Nations; implementing tasks assigned to localities in Plan 103/KH-UBND, dated May 7, 2020 of the Provincial People's Committee to implement the Global Compact on Global Migration Legal, Safe and Orderly Migration of the United Nations in Thanh Hoa province. Propagating and thoroughly implementing legal provisions on the content and measures to prevent illegal exit and illegal labor abroad of citizens in localities at present.

Guidance and legal support for migrant workers abroad; guidance on legal support for illegal labor migration and forced labor; career orientation according to the needs of foreign markets around the world. The world, regional and domestic situation affects the implementation of the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in the province; guidance and support for the implementation of procedures on sponsorship and consular protection for Thanh Hoa citizens abroad.

The training conference helps cadres, civil servants and public employees understand and improve the quality, efficiency of their work, and skills in advising leaders of agencies and units as well as solving issues for people in migration management, support and protection of migrants, especially specific groups of women, children and ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa province, ensuring compliance with Vietnamese and international regulations.
