The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam to be applied according to the 2018 General Education Program with many changes in content and form. In addition to the 2 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, students will take 2 more elective subjects from 10 subjects including: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Technology - Industry, Technology - Agriculture, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, English.
Consolidate and improve knowledge
From the end of February 2025, in addition to teaching regular classes, Vo Thi Sau High School (Tuy An District) will also teach 3-5 additional lessons per week for 12th grade students in Math, Literature and subjects students choose to take the 2025 high school graduation exam. For all subjects for the high school graduation exam, the school has a separate review plan to help students grasp knowledge systematically, by topic, with focus and practice test-taking skills. According to Mr. Do Thong, Principal of the school, during the review process, teachers will systematize the entire knowledge of the 12th grade program. For students with gaps in knowledge, the school will immediately consolidate their knowledge so that they can enter the 2025 high school graduation exam with the best results.
“In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has 331 grade 12 students. In addition to the two official exams of Math and Literature, 75 students registered for the optional English exam; 72 students registered for the optional Physics exam; 48 students registered for the optional Chemistry exam; 18 students registered for the optional Biology exam; 57 students registered for the optional Technology - Industry exam; 48 students registered for the optional Technology - Agriculture exam; 174 students registered for the optional History exam; 5 students registered for the optional Informatics exam; 96 students registered for the optional Geography exam and 69 students registered for the optional Economic and Legal Education exam,” said Mr. Do Thong.
Currently, the province has nearly 10,500 students studying in grade 12. The Department of Education and Training requires educational institutions to increase appropriate tutoring to consolidate weak students' knowledge, creating the best mindset for them to enter the exam with the highest results. The Department of Education and Training has also instructed educational institutions to organize review sessions for grade 12 students to closely follow the textbook program and sample exam structure of the Ministry of Education and Training .

Student Dao Vo Thanh Tra, class 12A2, Vo Thi Sau High School shared: “For the 2025 high school graduation exam, in addition to the 2 compulsory subjects, I chose 2 elective subjects: Physics and Chemistry. Over the past few months, my friends and I have been given free review sessions by teachers at school. I am trying my best to get the highest score on the graduation exam and be admitted to the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City). I have now mastered the basic knowledge and am practicing solving questions.”
In the 2024-2025 school year, Le Hong Phong High School (Tay Hoa district) has 574 12th graders registered for the high school graduation exam. In the past few months, the school has been teaching regular classes and reviewing for students. According to Ms. Tran Thi Le Thuy, the school's principal, in addition to reviewing for students, on April 9-10, the school organized a mock high school graduation exam in 2025 for 12th graders. The exam questions were based on the sample questions of the Ministry of Education and Training. Through the mock exam, the school screened students at risk of failing the graduation exam and assigned them to professional groups to assign teachers to tutor and tutor for free. On May 14 and 15, the school continued to organize the second mock high school graduation exam for students. From the results of the second mock exam, the school continued to filter again to review and tutor students until the 2025 high school graduation exam takes place on June 26 and 27.
Stick to the textbook to review
At present, schools and teachers always closely follow and accompany students in the process of reviewing textbooks and practicing solving illustrative questions of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Mai Thi Thuy, grade 12, Tran Suyen High School (Phu Hoa district) said: “I registered to take the 2025 high school graduation exam with 2 elective subjects: History and Geography. During the learning and reviewing process, teachers not only closely followed the textbook program but also guided us to do exercises according to the sample exam structure of the Ministry of Education and Training. In addition, from the beginning of the school year, I decided to take the History and Geography exams, so I focused on mastering the knowledge in the textbooks. I am now confident to enter the 2025 high school graduation exam.”
Some teachers of grade 12 shared that in order to achieve high results in the 2025 high school graduation exam, students must start reviewing basic knowledge and know how to apply knowledge to solve problems and situations. They should also proactively review by practicing exercises and answering questions at different levels. Currently, there are many review materials, but the main material for students to review is still textbooks.
