Handing over houses under the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province

On the afternoon of May 18, at the People's Committee of Tay Hoa district, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee - the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the Province held a house handover ceremony under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province (phase 1).

Attending the house handover ceremony were comrades: Tran Huu The, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Dinh Thi Thu Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Bui Thanh Toan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Tuy Hoa City Party Committee; Dao My, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; members of the Steering Committee; sponsors and 50 households representing families who have completed their houses from the support fund for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Tay Hoa, Phu Hoa districts, Dong Hoa town and Tuy Hoa city.

Reporting at the ceremony, comrade Tran Huu The said that as of May 15, the province had started construction of 1,898/2,225 houses for people with meritorious services, poor and near-poor households, and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, reaching 85.30% of the plan. Of these, 1,339 new houses were built; 559 houses were renovated and repaired.

The total number of completed houses is 1,316 (816 newly built houses; 500 renovated and repaired houses). The remaining 313 houses have not yet started construction. Four localities have completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses: Tay Hoa, Phu Hoa, Tuy Hoa City and Dong Hoa Town.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee, comrade Tran Huu The acknowledged the efforts, determination and initiative of the localities in implementing the program. This is a very meaningful gift from the smooth and effective coordination between levels, sectors and localities with a high spirit of determination, assigning "clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear results, clear products" in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister . Especially the positive response of enterprises, organizations, individuals and people, not only contributing materially but also with a sense of responsibility and affection in caring for poor households and households with housing difficulties.

Identifying that the movement to eliminate temporary housing is not only an immediate task but also a long-term responsibility, an important political task, especially in the upcoming context when Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces merge, expanding development space for localities, comrade Tran Huu The requested Party committees, People's Committees of localities, and the Fatherland Front to review housing support for households facing many housing difficulties, especially for households that do not meet the prescribed standards as beneficiaries of this program; continue to research, propose appropriate and effective solutions, promote better resource mobilization, expand flexible and creative forms of support, suitable for the subjects, contributing to improving the quality of life of the people.

All levels, sectors, localities and units continue to widely propagate to union members, association members and the people about the purpose and significance of the emulation movement nationwide to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses so that people, especially poor and near-poor households, can have a house to live in, thereby feeling secure in working and producing.
